I had the flashlight on my 3GS and it wasn't as bright as my home screen. One of the many deleted apps.

</div><div>star3map - Star and planet mapper</div><div>space-junk - free version of star3map</div><div>Blues Trail - The MS Blues Trail on your phone (Country Trail coming soon)</div><div>Readar - Find bookstores and libraries near you.</div><div>LibAnywhere - browse your local library catalog (if the library is a member of LibAnywhere...hundreds of libraries but none in MS right now, I'm working to fix that)</div><div>Wolfenstein 3D - MSU grad did a lot of the leg work getting it onto the iPhone.</div>

Great app for file sharing, doc access. Right now Box is offering 50gigs storage for free. No files larger than 25mb though. With both apps you can invite people to your box and they download or upload files to/from it.

OT thread hijack: I browse SPS from my phone at work because I'm a slacker. However sometimes the ad banners on the side overlap the posts and I miss half of what people say. Tried messing with settings but that's not getting me any results. Any suggestions?

BTW, it pains me to recommend a Microsoft product.<div>
</div><div>But I must say I've played with Bing maps (using a PC) and it knocks Google maps socks off. It is way more intelligent in picking the best route. The user interface is also a lot more responsive.</div><div>
</div><div>Haven't looked to see if they have a mobile app that is any good.</div><div>

You have to get espn radio, Dan Patrick, pandora, and bulldog sports radio (all free except espn). With those apps, I just stream it though my phone and will never need satellite radio

That would be 5-0 radio?

Don't have it, but I heard it, pretty slick if it covers your area.

C3 Technologies they bought last year. The demos of 3D mapping they've released are incredible and as much as Apple hates Google, cutting ties with Google Maps would be a major deal.

Some I haven't seen mentioned:

Find iPhone - absolute must for iPhone owners, locate iPhone on map, remotely lock iPhone, remotely wipe iPhone, make iPhone play siren even if its on silent
Tweetbot - my favorite twitter client
Deliveries - easy way to track any packages you have through UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL etc..
Spotify - $10/mo, but can listen to any song you want on demand, and share playlists with your friends
RedBox - reserve movies right from your phone to go by and pick up
Evernote - note-taking app that can be synced across pretty much any device you may have. supports attachments
TripIt - easy way to keep up with your trip itinerary just by forwarding your hotel/flight/car confirmation emails
mSecure - keep up with all of your online passwords and such
Sleep Cycle - app that wakes you up when you are in a light sleep as opposed to deep REM sleep (detects your movements throughout the night)
Songkick - will notify you when artists in your iTunes library are playing concerts near you
Soundtracking - post clips of the songs you listen to on twitter/facebook/email
Crackle - free movies and tv shows

If you're lucky enough to have Verizon Wireless:

NFL Mobile - watch NFL Redzone live all day on Sunday, plus live Sunday and Monday night footlball, also scores, stats, and highlights
VZ Contact transfer - keep your contacts backed up
My Verizon Mobile - everything you need to stay on top of your online account

Get the offical Adam Carolla app -- just came out today.
Excellent!

AroundMe is a good one for knowing businesses nearby -- similar to Yelp.

SoundHound is pretty cool for deciphering songs that are playing at a bar, on radio, etc.

I've used HBO GO (and even Max GO) and read about Nomad.
Does it work?
More importantly, the website says there is a $149 one-time cost... what is this for? The right to use it? If so, that's insane.

That Nomad box is not needed. I downloaded a free program from DirecTV that allows me to watch DVR content on my PC. It streams through wifi.

Don't know if it works outside my home network (like a slingbox).

My DVR is connected to ethernet at home. Nomad on my iPhone talks to the DVR and lets me watch whatever I have recorded.

That made me think of this app. The Jawbone UP. I'm considering buying it.
