Dec 2022:

“We got a few positions already taken care of, because I’m bringing my luggage with me — and it’s Louis [Vuitton]. Okay, it ain’t gonna be no more of the mess that these wonderful fans, the student body, and some of your parents have put up with ... for probably two decades now. I’m comin’ and when I get here it’s gonna be changed. So I wan’t y’all to get ready, to go ahead and jump in that portal, and do whatever you’re gonna get, because the more of you jump in, the more room we make, because we’re bringing in kids who are smart, say that, tough.”

Great. Please don’t elaborate.
iirc, 4real did a lot of work with NFL films HQ in South Jersey. Someone here did.

and number 1 likely because of a full class of 25 bodies.. smart, on his part, to know he can claim that "win"... and next couple years the built-in excuse (or brag if successful) is "we are so young", so new playing together..

63 out of 83 Colorado scholarship players from 2022 are gone.

Oh, I would be remiss to not mention that his first recruiting class is ranked #1 in the country.

When Deon was announced, the existing players that didn’t believe that he wants them gone now understand that their time has come.

”Look to your left and look to your right. 3 out of 4 of you will not be here next season”.

The Turk has spoken.

That’s a great quote . A quote any fan of a struggling team would want to hear when a new coach takes over

I think the way in which Deion cleaned house (or at least served notice of such) when he took over at CU is well known. The point of this most recent reporting in the linked Sporting News piece and elsewhere, such as in The Athletic, is that a bunch of guys Deion was counting on to be big contributors also entered the portal this past weekend, including the star of the Buffs' spring game. That is new.

He's burning it to the ground and pissing on the ashes. It will be interesting to see how this scorched earth strategy works out.

I think that it's great that his star players basically used the spring game to audition for other teams before they transferred. I'm sure that was their plan all along. That's what happens when you show no loyalty to your team and actually release video of you telling the current team that they should prepare to be replaced - it comes back to bite you in the a$$. As the proverb says, "You reap what you sow."

I don't care if he is successful or not - There is no way I would send my kid to play for this guy.

I posted about all the portal transfers in that thread. Reportedly, he had 70 new players his first year at JSU. In time, we’ll see if the strategy works at the P5 level or not.

Haha I see it's been pointed out nvr mind

On a serious note, aren't the Buffs still limited to the 25 player class size? How do you replace 70 players?

It will be interesting to see what happens there. I mean they were 1-11 and their “best” players didn’t have eye popping stats, but you can’t gut an entire roster overnight and expect to improve- can you?

IIRC there are no limits at least for the next couple years and it may become permanent. Transfer portal losses are part of the reason for no limits.

Coaching change also eliminates a lot of the limit rules.
One thing I really miss with all this conference shuffle is Colorado vs Nebraska games. I went out to Boulder 3 times to watch those games. What a blast for both fanbases those games used to be.

PWOs and NIL money would be the easiest way I would think.

Colorado was 1-11 with a win over 4-8 Cal at home. They were rated bottom 5/10 in most categories on offense and defense, and overall. Why would you try to keep anyone on that team given the landscape of how the NCAA runs now. ESPN jumped on early broadcasting Colorado's spring game. It won't be hard for Coach Prime to deliver a winning season or least come close in 2023 and a winning season in 2024.
You have to realize the crowd in the room here. They love misery, and it would please them to see another person fail.

I'm with you on this one. Sanders will not win a national championship this year, but they will be better than 1-11.

He'll have a better season than Greg this year
Not sure about that. CU schedule looks like an O/U number of four. Best case OOC is 2-1 depending on Nebraska. They're not beating TCU, Oregon, SC or UCLA. Figure 5-7 is the ceiling IMHO and that's if he can get some players.
Is it me or does anyone else thinks that not even knowing who is in your program at this date is not good?
