Plus 1 target and 2 incoming freshmen. Even if 7 of the 13 are OL that's an awfully thin room.
But he's PRIME, and he's GREAT!! And our guy is NOT PRIME!!!!! The fawning over this guy as the second coming of Bear Bryant is hilarious.

CU has already sold out 2023 season tix. Fans don’t expect a winner this season, just a far more competitive team than 1-11. They will get that.

CU should see some big improvements in 2024.

I made no comment regarding attendance. Do you not think that the OL group is awfully thin? Or do you think that if the injury bug hits and he has to start 2 3 three-star freshmen against USC it wouldn't be a problem?

Yes they are thin in 2023 and will get blown out by the better conference teams. But CU fans know that this is not a one season rebuild and they will continue to support the team imo.

Most RU fans would trade places with CU fans at this point, notwithstanding Conference affiliations. That’s my opinion.

Man, I hope a lot of those 13 scholarship players he's got staying are OL. Because right now he's got 4.
I don’t know. Only thing I remember reading were no WRs from last year left on the team and one other position group I think was emptied out completely.

WR are easier to replace than linemen. Besides, the WR from last year's team couldn't crack the 2-deep at most power 5 schools.

Ask Willie Fritz. His Tulane team took down USC in a bowl game a season after going 2-10. Good thing they hung onto him instead of going the instant gratification and fire him now route.
Was that a year after 2-10 or a year after their 8-year rebuild? Asking for a friend

Deion’s publicly saying what other coaches won’t
And he’s doing what they’re doing, but on another level

College fb is a business
Loyalty is few and far between

WTBS, I would not bet against Prime
He’s been successful everywhere

I don’t like some of his antics, but of course I love him bc what he did for FSU (Hunter situation not withstanding)

Everywhere = Jackson state.

Deon is already losing players who portaled in. Jackson state guys and others are portaling out.

Deon is also trying to get some players who portaled to come back.

Guy is a winner - like I said, like him or not I would not bet against him

One stop as a coach.

Did any of YOUR examples clean house and get rid of 80%+ of the players?

He was a winner and now is doing the opposite.

He’s inheriting a 1-11 team
If he’s not cleaning house, there’d be an issue

Nobody knows if he’ll be a winner at CU

however, going by his track record and success at multiple points of his life, I am confident that he will have success there

Obviously, I could be dead wrong on this. Nobody will know until the final product is finished a few years from now.

I’m going based on his past successes, and from what I know of him, he has an intense desire to win that rivals only Jordan and Kobe

Coaches don't usually inherit national champions.

His track record as coach is D1AA Jackson state.

"Nobody knows" but you think you know based on his track record. You then admit you could be wrong. You are all over the place.

The is not about cleaning house. The problem is the circus. Players that came in from Jackson state are already leaving. P5 transfers in from Michigan are leaving. Colorado players who left are now being recruited to come back. Deion is a clown.

It’s a message board talking about sports, not a nuclear summit or a conference on curing cancer

Part of said board has people giving opinions about sports, which is what I’m doing

Deion is doing what most coaches do, but in typical Deion fashion, going balls to the wall (amount of transfers in / out) and making it a public spectacle

When I said Dion’s track record, I was referring to everything he has done in life.

Growing up in poverty in North Fort Myers, to excelling at Florida State, in three sports, to playing two professional sports, to his endorsement career, his prime persona, and now into his coaching ventures.

A lot of people think Deion is a clown. That’s fine.

I’ve met him multiple times and he’s extremely well spoken and very intelligent.

He created the whole prime persona from his dorm room at FSU, nothing was given to him. He did it all by himself, and backed it up with his play

Although I don’t agree with a lot of his methods, I look at his track record. And every single step along the way, hes had success. That is undeniable.

That does not mean he will have success here, but once again, based on his past track record, bud drive, ego, and competitive nature I’ve only seen rivaled in Jordan & Kobe, I would not bet against the man

If he succeeds at CU will you accept Deion as HC of FSU if there is an opening?

Cool

That’s what makes message boards and sports fun

Differing opinions on non life & death issues regarding things were passionate about

FWIW, I wish Greg had some Deion in him. The whole “we’re building, we’re young, thus guy has potential, he’s improved”! Etc responses are getting old

Say what you want about Deion, but he’s not afraid to be bold. Take chances, get scrutinized

At this point of his life, he could easily ride into the sunset. Do some cameos. Be an ambassador. Make commercials

Yet he’s in his mid 50s putting his hard earned reputation on the line. Gong out on a limb, doing things his way. Regardless of anyone’s opinion or thoughts

I commend a guy like that. But again, knowing Prme, it’s not surprising.

For someone who has openly said “if your dreams, not bigger than you, there’s something wrong with your dream” he’s still living it to this day.

Agreed, but I'm just saying that if Colorado wins more games than Rutgers over the next three years, that is no guarantee they'd be better than us when their conference will be weaker. If we are still garbage on O, that's a different story. Clearly we need to show progress this season.
Weaker have you looked at their 2023 scheduled compared to our. Take a look and then tell me who has the weaker schedule. According to some on here PT can’t coach. If they win more games then us in the next 2 years, I don’t want to hear they play in a weaker conference. Recruits aren’t trying to hear about a rebuild, they want to win now. PT will recruit more 4 and 5 stars within a year then GS has recruited in his whole career

You are right about Colorado having a pretty tough schedule in 2023, but has anyone actually said he can't coach or have they said that his previous coaching experience hasn't proven he can be a winner at a D1 Level? Unless you think that this is sandlot football and you can be successful by just getting rid of every scholarship player and throw together a brand new bunch of guys from May-August leading into a new season, who have not played together....the Buffaloes might go winless in 2023. That kind of contradicts your narrative on recruits wanting to win now. He may very well be able to recruit 4 and 5 star players - but PT is essentially rebuilding from ground zero.

I'm not a fan of Dion and have my doubts. I'll take a wait and see approach with this one though.

Anybody comparing Colorado's burn it down and rise from the ashes approach to competing in a crumbling conference and building a competitive team in the B1G needs to get a grip.

There is no shortcut up the mountain that is the Big Ten. There are also many rock slides and avalanches on the way. Dues to be paid. Patience folks

Their conference may be weaker, but they don’t play the joke of an OOC schedule that we play.

Will be interesting. I don't care how it works out for him either way- if it does, great for him, if not, not so great for him. I just wish some of our "fans" would stop drawing comparisons to RU's situation and using it to denigrate the job Greg is doing. Greg is not Coach Prime, nor is there anyone else quite like him in terms of style and approach. The stone throwers have been in here already, but let's be real about playing in the B1G East vs. playing in the PAC 12. The PAC 12 is no cakewalk, and Colorado has TCU and Nebraska to start the season. It will be interesting to see how they fare against USC, UCLA, Utah, and Oregon State- that's an example where it took 3 years of so-so results before the new coach got it rolling.

That said, there should be expectations that this year should show significant progress, as last year was rough.
I would feel a lot better about Greg if he wore a cowboy hat . . .

Shoot our coach isn’t a winner at the D1 level. If PT beat 2 ranked team in 2023 he would have accomplished a feat that our coach hasn’t done in his entire career. PT does r have a 3 year rebuild program he has a win now mentality. But I will give you this we will know soon enough if he can coach on the D1 level
