I'm not a fan of Dion and have my doubts. I'll take a wait and see approach with this one though.

Anybody comparing Colorado's burn it down and rise from the ashes approach to competing in a crumbling conference and building a competitive team in the B1G needs to get a grip.

There is no shortcut up the mountain that is the Big Ten. There are also many rock slides and avalanches on the way. Dues to be paid. Patience folks
Crumbling conference, Colorado’s schedule is more challenging then our schedule. BB at Illinois build a competitive team in the Big 10 in 2 years, no excuses.

I'll be curious to see what happens with general admissions.
Colorado isn't hard to get into and has an acceptance rate between 70-80% depending on the year
Tuition, R&B without aid is around 32k - 21k with aid.
Boulder is supposed to be a great college town.

I used to think Colorado was kind of in the middle of nowhere but its in the middle of everywhere.
I looked at flight times from NY, Miami, Dallas, LA and most were around 3 hours give or take (Miami was longest at around 4hrs).

I'll be curious if football makes Colorado an "It school" of sorts.
A lot of kids in NE liked Tulane and WV to get away from the snotty nonsense and costs of eastern colleges

Bielema has done a nice job in his first 2 years. Remember His work at Arkansas, in a tougher division than the watered-down B1G West (which should be tougher in the coming years with the addition of Rhule and Fickel as coaches, but who knows how they will play out). Anyway, Arkansas:
Terrible 2013, steady build in 2014 and 2015, and then a collapse, and fired.

Bret did not inherit the mess that Greg inherited. In 2019 (last full year before covid 2020), Lovie had Illinois at 6-6/4-5 going to a bowl.

In year 2021, Bret regressed to 5-7/4-5, losing to ummm, Greg Schiano's Rutgers.

Sure, Bret had a nice year in 2021, but one year does not make a career. Remember Mel Tucker's first year? How did year 2 work out for Mel? Funny, Bret lost to EVERY B1G East team he played in 2022, including Indiana (who Rutgers beat) and a weak Michigan State.

But go ahead, strap on your Bret pom poms.

Colorado's schedule tougher than Rutgers? 😂

Show the teams equivalent to Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State on their schedule.
USC? Lost to Tulane in a bowl.

Any coach who does t say they want their own players in is lying. Sanders realized he can make this happen very quickly. The paradigm in college football has changed. If you aren’t winning in 5 years you aren’t winning.

Rutgers is playing three of the top 5 preseason teams in the country. The rest of the schedule isn’t a cakewalk either.

I was watching highlights from the 2014 team, and we don’t have anywhere near the talent of that team on our current roster. The talent is coming in and our current players are developing , but I still think that we are a year away.

The biggest different from the 2014 team is a great OL line, a stud QB in Nova, great running backs, and some all star receivers with Caroo and Turzilli. I think that Schiano will get us there, but he does need another year to get us to where we need to be.

Maybe pump the brakes to see how the on field performance goes.

Nothing to pump. He’s taking advantage of the current ecosystem of college sports. Good for him.

Coaches generally get 3 years of good will until things go in one direction or another.

Sanders is expediting this based on the tools afforded to him. They were 1-11 last year. Not surprised he’s turning over the roster as fast as possible.
