Regimes like that are secretive about everything, even when they don't need to be, and also the Chinese government has a giant chip on their shoulder about what they see as being told what to do.
So, they don't want the truth of zoonotic transmission let out, over pride? Wouldn't that clear them of any wrongdoing on the Global stage? I find this explanation unplausible. They have the perfect alibi if true but choose not to let the world find out for themselves and clear the air.

Magic wasn't straight. He was bi.

Loving the warmer ocean temps! Wish it was hotter though.
Is that true? I remember my roommate (ND grad) crying when the news of Magic and AIDS came out. He definitely was promiscious. 3 women at a time. Ladies throwing themselves at the Lakers star.

Kind of like Russia not sharing info on Chernobyl. It took detection from neighboring countries before they even acknowledged a problem.

Yes. Very widely known in these parts. He got around. And not just with women. He was doing all kinds of sordid things. It shouldn't be much of surprise. Even at it's height, HIV was almost exclusively a gay disease. The odds of transmission from a woman to man were extremely rare outside of intravenous drug use which I never heard anyone associate with Magic.

Sigh. Trying to relitigate more things you guys were wrong on back in 2020. When those statements were made about Lunar NY celebrations it was early February and at that point we had a couple of cases in the entire country and zero deaths and we had a POTUS telling us it was going to vanish.

Hard to imagine state/local politicians canceling events back then - even though, in hindsight, we probably should have gone into lockdown by late Feb/early March (like I did) and not mid/late March, like most did - largely because the Administration failed completely on developing tests, so we were flying blind (other countries had tests and offered them to us)
Sigh lol. We already know that in mid-Jan '20 federal health officials were working with every state and major metro area on planning tailored to that particular region re:chicomvirus. And Trump had CDC working on tests in early Jan as soon as China made the genetic sequence public. The Trump Admin obviously took the threat seriously and early on.

Then of course there's the Fraudci factor you like to ignore.

Again with ####'s Fraudci revisionist history. 🙄

Well, if Trump lied, so did Anthony S. Fauci.
  • On Jan. 21, Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said in an interview that “this is not a major threat for the people of the United States, and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”
  • On Jan. 26 when he was asked whether Americans should be scared, Fauci replied, “I don’t think so. The American people should not be worried or frightened by this. It’s a very, very low risk to the United States, but it’s something that we, as public health officials, need to take very seriously.”
  • On Jan. 31 (the day Trump announced banning travel from China, saving countless lives), Fauci said, “We still have a low risk to the American public, but we want to keep it at a low risk.”
  • On Feb. 3, Fauci predicted that because of the travel restrictions Trump had put in place, “I think you are going to see a dampening down” of US cases.
  • On Feb. 17, Fauci told USA Today that the danger to Americans was “just minuscule” and that people should be more worried about the “real and present danger” of seasonal flu. He further warned against “outlandish extrapolations of fear” and advised that “now, in the United States, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to wear a mask.”
  • On Feb. 28, Fauci finally acknowledged, “It could be really, really bad,” but added, “I don’t think it’s gonna be, because I think we’d be able to do the kind of mitigation. It could be mild.”
  • On Feb. 29 he said, “Right now, at this moment, there is no need to change anything that you’re doing on a day-by-day basis. Right now the risk is still low, but this could change. … I mean, this could be a major outbreak. I hope not. Or it could be something that’s reasonably well controlled. At the end of the day, this will ultimately go down.”
  • On March 9 he said, “If you are a healthy young person, there is no reason if you want to go on a cruise ship, go on a cruise ship. But … an elderly person who has an underlying condition, I would recommend strongly that they do not go on a cruise ship.”
  • As late as March 10, Fauci was still adamant that “as a nation, the risk is relatively low” but admitted that “there are parts of the country right now that are having community spread in which the risk there is clearly a bit more than that.” He added that “we would like the country to realize that as a nation, we can’t be doing the kinds of things we were doing a few months ago. That it doesn’t matter if you’re in a state that has no cases or one case.”
  • Three days later, on March 13, Trump declared a national emergency.
  • And on March 16 the president urged all Americans to avoid restaurants, bars, discretionary travel and groups of more than 10 people, while states began issuing orders to shelter in place.
What this shows is that until mid-March, no one knew we were facing a once-in-a-generation pathogen. The real question is: Why did Fauci and all of the government’s smartest medical minds take so long to recognize the danger and advise the president to take action? The answer is because they expected this outbreak to be like the SARS, avian flu, swine flu, Middle East respiratory syndrome, Zika and Ebola outbreaks before it — a serious public health crisis, but one they could handle. They were wrong. When they finally realized they were wrong, and advised the president to implement mitigation measures, he did so — shutting down a booming economy to protect public health.

The suggestion that Trump knew how dangerous the virus was, but intentionally misled Americans and failed to take action, is demonstrably wrong. What is “beyond despicable” is for Biden to suggest that he did.

Any comment on whether the host country is helping or hindering the search for the cause?
Help or hinder ??? the search will still go on .
Help will make it easier, but scientists will still have to look at all the evidence closely .
Hinder is what the host country is doing by not helping the search.
Conspiracy theorist and self serving politicians who play up to conspiracy theorist for political support are also hindering the search for the origins of virus.. Most of those politicians feel the complaints they make against scientific facts helps them more than finding answers.
Enjoying the support of those who look at science as an enemy because a lot of the facts scientist publishes go against their beliefs.
Using any changes scientists make, because of new findings on the issue being looked at, that are different from their previous stance ,based an evidence known at that time ,as proof sience isn't to be trusted , making ignorance into a virtur

Trump administration pressured the CDC in August of 2020 to revise testing guidelines. It was their demand that people without Covid symptoms should not get tested.

This is well-documented, contemporaneously, and coincides with the famous "Stop the testing!" and "If we didn't test, we wouldn't have as many cases."

Actually they're most scared--terrified even--of a big, bad, scary vaccine!! Boo! Maybe they're really just afraid of needles and think they might pass out from fear in front of a nurse.
You’re a pin cushion bruh 😆

The “they scared of needles” is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard and that says a lot with you Left Wing Morons.

Jab yourself a hundred times I don’t give AF.

Leave us normals alone though .

Revising the CDC testing was overdue.

US chicomvirus cases had always been overcounted relative to worldwide numbers. Our so-called expert CoronaBros always clammed-up when presented with the fact that US testing at 37-40 cycles of amplification drove virus levels in samples up 100-1000 times higher than most country standards, including the supposed star of the western industrialized world Germany.

You've heard that the wuhan flu death counts were overcounted too by at least 30% right? Even NYT admitted it. That starts with the hyperaggressive US testing protocols.

Early days? It continues to today. So called scientific minds are not at all concerned about finding the root cause of the virus. It's racist to assume it came from the lab so we will not pursue it. Really really sad that today's so called scientists have become dependent on funding from politicians who instruct them on what to say. Not good for humanities future to be frank.
I only said "early days" because that's what we were talking about. China continues to not be transparent or communicative. And why would you say scientists aren't concerned with finding the source of the virus? That's just silly and why it's frustrating that we haven't had more cooperation from China.

Came from the lab in Wuhan that Fraudcci funded. Everyone knows it.

Dr Li-Ming Yan - virologist defector (worked at Wuhan) did a podcast recently (she had to lay low for awhile since DC mafia allowed a hostile husband into the US despite an order of protection against him) and she said the newly discovered CA bio-weapon cache near military. The installation had a lot of bad stuff with expensive equipment but the operation was made to look sloppy so that anything getting out of there could be blamed on US since it was in US. She can be hard to understand but everything she said in the past (and got censored for) was correct.

Not sure why people are trying to obfuscate the origins. It’s widely known through a number of different agencies and institutions. It was known back in 19. Nothing has changed and in fact has become even more clear. Guessing the desired confusion has something to do with TDS.

When was the last time TWO young D1 basketball players had serious heart crisis on ONE year?. Add to that the D1 football players droppinmg dead. Now there are two pilots dead on the job in one week.

CDC, FDA et al all said hydroxychloroquine could cause serious heart problems "The FDA is aware of reports of serious heart rhythm problems in patients with COVID-19 treated with hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine.." Media went nuts on hydro after Trump metioned it (and Warp Speed called for therapeutics for all but elderly and sick." Then there were the bogus "studies designed to fail when hydro was given to patients on ventilaors. It was well know hydro had to be given early and with zinc (requirements intentionally left out"

Vaxx heart problems never mattered despite early evidence of their existence

JAMA

Sudden cardiac arrest has been the #1 cause of death in college athletes for decades. With 520,000 student athletes playing NCAA sports two deaths from sudden cardiac arrest would be a low number, statistically speaking.

"There is an occasion where bad outcomes like sudden cardiac arrest occur in an athlete. Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in young athletes. Estimates vary, but some reports suggest that about 1 in 50,000 to 1 in 80,000 young athletes die of sudden cardiac death each year."

"The number of student-athletes competing in NCAA championship sports in 2021-22 jumped to over 520,000, an all-time high"

Israeli experts reported it was a weapon the week it publicly emerged in China. It had parts not related to the animals being blamed . The whole pangolin/bat thing was turkey feed

One of top chemists in US got booted from Harvard for being involved with CCP - they own a lot of academics, pols, coprporate people etc. Mao took over China using grift, blackmail and sex - its CCPs MO and they bought a lot of people in US.

If you want to hear something briliant that explains America' s crippled psychology then listen to linked podcast. Kunster is sharp as a tack and so is his expert. Its a shame all we get is bimbos and twinks in MSM.
