"They're not serious people." That kind of confirmed my previous thinking that none of them would get it and the fact they replayed that line in the review of the season before final episode emphasized to me that was the likely outcome. The boardroom fight just demonstrated how "unserious" they were.I liked how unceremonious the ending was. Alllll that work has gone into jockeying for position and then boom, it’s over and Tom is CEO hahaha
So the two boys who self anointed themselves and took the crown are out. Shiv sells her soul to cut them out and lets Tom take it, while continuing in marriage in name only so she can still live the life. Roman will waste his money away on booze and hang out with pee wee Herman. Kendall’s corporate life as he knows it is over, he was an empty suit that couldn't even provide a vision in front of the Board before the final vote. I have expected him to jump n the river in the final scene and end it. He has no family, no career, and his reaching the thrown was his only goal in lifeYou might have called it
I liked toms pitch at dinner with Matson. It was brutally honest and authenticSo the two boys who self anointed themselves and took the crown are out. John Snow….err Tom wins it because he sucks the biggest johnson….art imitating life in corporate america.
I thought the same about Kendall. Off the building and then later in the river. He had those scenes a few times in the show where he's looking down from the top of the building so wondered if he might do that at the end and then the one time in the pool as well.So the two boys who self anointed themselves and took the crown are out. That would've been cool. Even if he just wandered into the east river...there was alot of water imagery earlier in the series focused on Kendall. That would have been a fitting ending. A return to the earth.I thought the same about Kendall. Off the building and then later in the river. edit: looks like it was almost done ad lib
I thought Tom's winning move was when he was at work and NOT at the funeral.I liked toms pitch at dinner with Matson. It was brutally honest and authentic
Excellent points! Very true. ALOT of seismic shifts happened at that funeral. It was Logan's last hurrahI thought Tom's winning move was when he was at work and NOT at the funeral.
At the funeral Mattson asks where Tom is.. and you could see him register the idea that the essential person left at the office is Tom... even being told that ATN is busy as hell at the time.
I think that is what got Tom the nod over others as well as Shiv assuring Mattson that Tom would be a great figurehead puppet... that is what won him the job over the other rumored Americans. Shiv was only in it in name only... allowing her to think that was what was getting Mattson her vote.
But all of the kids come out of this wealthy. They can all do whatever projects they thought they could do... but none of them have ever built anything. Even Shiv.. a political consultant.. her career was bought with donations by Daddy.
Tom's career was built by toadying.. for a rich wife and then with a rich father-in-law and now with Mattson. But he was an outsider.. he had to make all that happen.
I find is also perfect that Tom's winning move was not planned. He stumbled into it wanting to wield power as long as he could.Excellent points! Very true. ALOT of seismic shifts happened at that funeral. It was Logan's last hurrah
Not sure if it was discussed but what was the deal with Tom and Greg? Did the sticker mean he was keeping Greg? Or forgave him?I find is also perfect that Tom's winning move was not planned. He stumbled into it wanting to wield power as long as he could.
It is also interesting that the name of the show was "Succession" and there was no succession.. the company got sold.
I really wanted to here was the stepfather Peter and his friend's plan was. I was almost going that Peter's friend was some kind of quiet billionaire who would help them buy Mattson out. And that the kids would just stumble into that like everything else they did not earn.
It meant he claimed him. He was keeping him, but Greg was gonna be Tom’s ***** foreverNot sure if it was discussed but what was the deal with Tom and Greg? Did the sticker mean he was keeping Greg? Or forgave him?
I always saw Greg as trying to be like Tom but still too much CYA and willing to go whichever way the wind was blowing. It meant he claimed him. He was keeping him, but Greg was gonna be Tom’s ***** forever
The ending was out of left field. I don't want to give anything away if someone hasn't watched it yet but I think I understand why Fuchs did what he did.I won't give away any spoilers for the Finale of Barry. Great show for three seasons. Season 4 had its moments, but wish they ended the show after Season 3.
Oh, he kept him.. he needs someone to safely torture.. at some point Greg will grow up and rebel.. you'd think. It was amazing that Greg had no idea that what his revealing info to the boys and Shiv was essentially screwing Tom over. Just unaware... but it was the right thing to do.Not sure if it was discussed but what was the deal with Tom and Greg? Did the sticker mean he was keeping Greg? Or forgave him?
