I'll trade you an Allstate policy for your USAA policy **So, I live in Texas and I’ve pretty much always had USAA for home and auto insurance, but I’m coming up on renewal next month and I’m thinking of shopping around.
Anybody have a favorite insurance they’d recommend?
I switched to Progressive, USAA had horrible rates for Florida, it's at least one I'd get a rate from. I went through an independent agent who shopped around for me, saved about $4k a year in insurance, bundled everything with them. So, I live in Texas and I’ve pretty much always had USAA for home and auto insurance, but I’m coming up on renewal next month and I’m thinking of shopping around.

Farmers sells in Mississippi under their Foremost brand. Competitive rates in MS. Having an auto claim serviced now and it’s been great experience. Give them a shot through an independent agent.Had USAA for years in Texas but the rates got to high so I switched to Farmers and saved a bunch. Moved back to the 'Sip in '23 but Farmer's was not licensed here so I switched to Travelers which had similar rates. Unfortunately, Traveler's rates jumped this year and I switched back to USAA and saved 25% over Travelers. Talking about going full circle.
Yeah. You might find cheaper premiums. But that's a terrible way to choose an insurance company. What matters is how they pay claims. I've had a few over the years and it's been easy every time.Have a good friend with USAA and they totaled 3 brand new cars in 8-12 months and USAA somehow didn't drop them. They're fans for life
yep, all claims for them have been paid no questions asked really.Yeah. You might find cheaper premiums. But that's a terrible way to choose an insurance company. What matters is how they pay claims. I've had a few over the years and it's been easy every time.
Interesting. Anybody want to get a quote for Dorman Hall?yep, all claims for them have been paid no questions asked really.
State Farm treating their "customers" poorly? I shan't believe it. I just shan't.USAA is high as a cat's back, but they pay claims. Several years ago, a hailstorm hit our neighborhood, USAA overpaid for my roof, folks with State Farm weren't treated as well.
This. I live in coastal area I they are the only one that hasn't tripled every year like I had before.Just stay with USAA. you won’t beat it.
State Farm has always paid my claims on vehicle insurance no problems. They didn't cover homes in my area or they would be my insurance company for that too. They services me through using another company insurance that keeps going up crazy high so I dropped them for usaa. But never had a problem when I had State Farm in another location where they carried home insuranceState Farm treating their "customers" poorly? I shan't believe it. I just shan't.
I think they are actually ok on vehicle claims. But even if they pay 90% of homeowners claims on the up and up, that's a lot of money to pay every year to have just a 90% chance of them not 17ing you if you ever have a significant claim. If you can't afford to self fund a lawsuit without hiring a lawyer on contingency, you arguably can't afford to have State Farm insurance on your home.State Farm has always paid my claims on vehicle insurance no problems. Team I'm sure you are right. I had renters insurance with them a long time ago and they paid out when my apart ent building burned down. Although I got pissed that the agent kept asking if there was anything salvageable and she even drove out there to look. It was all over news too.I think they are actually ok on vehicle claims.
