There was a story on NBC about an entire trailer full of nearly dead illegal immigrants from Guatemala. The truck driver had just left in the back without any air and some were nearly dead from the heat when the local Sheriff's dept rescued them. They eventually caught the driver and during the perp walk to the police car, he's shown in all his crimson and cream glory, wearing his old, dumpy u of o t-shirt.

A good friend of mine is a Tulsa cop. Several years ago a serial rapist was on the loose. He had raped several women and an eight-year-old girl. The Tulsa cops got enough of a description to get a sketch artist rendering of the creep. He was wearing a squat ball cap in the drawing. After the drawing was shown on all the local newscasts, the cops received a deluge of calls from loyal squats demanding that the sketch be redone sans goon cap. It didn't seem to matter to these loyal fans that the guy was wearing the cap when he committed the crimes. They put their loyalty to squat tech over capturing a violent criminal. Guy was eventually caught and during the perp walk he was wearing, you guessed it, the squat cap.
Their concern for representation is kinda ironic given their running back depth chart.
