I did read it. Inside your idiotic post, you told people who were upset to go cheer for UofL (Dumb statement #1). Then you said we are striving for mediocrity by winning 6 games, which is a losers mentality (dumb statement #2). Cheering for mediocrity. Lol our fans peeps. My goodness.
Do I really have to explain this again. I want to win 11/12 games just like everyone else. We aren't going to do that this year. I don't think admitting the obvious truth is a loser mentality, but if you can't see the difference then I can't help you. We need to hire a coach that will both win and develop recruits. That isn't what we are getting. Stoops is not the guy. Everyone says "oh well Louisville's goal is to win the national championship". Good for them. I don't care about them. I'm more worried about what it will take for us to get to that level, and its not happening until Mitch realizes that Stoops is not the right guy for the job.

I understand both arguments about the football program.

If I were younger and hadn't been following UK football for 45 years, then I would be more patient and tolerant.

Being that it's been groundhog day for most of my life, I don't have much patience anymore.

I vividly remember Convenient food mart giving out free tickets to see UofL (the Red Rage) football games and nobody wanted them even for free!

It's crazy to watch other programs be built, then fall, and then be re-built and we've mostly just cruised along hoping for the occasional 6 win season...

Last night I played a wedding and over in the corner were a bunch of UofL fans gathered around a tv hollering and excitedly carrying on about the game against Clemson.

A person walked up to me and said "how UK do tonight?"

I said "we got smoked" and the person laughed and said "Oh I already knew that, I just love hearing it said out loud"

I said "that's awesome, you have a top 5 team in the country and you STILL get your joy from UK sucking".

I'M FREAKING TIRED OF SUCKING AND IT'S TOTALLY NOT FAIR THAT WE'VE FOLLOWED AND SUPPORTED THIS PISS POOR PROGRAM FOR DECADES WITHOUT ANY REAL WINNING EFFORT FROM THE ADMINISTRATION AT UK!!!!!

We can agree on two things then: Winning 10-11 seasons and a new coach.

We are way past the slapping each other on the back for "playing hard". That is not the standard after four years into a coaching change. That may have been appropriate the first six games of Stoops tenure but not five games into the fourth year. It just doesn't fit anymore. We have issues much deeper than the lack of playing hard or soft.

It took us three years and a grunch of points given up in the first two games of year four for the HC to devote some attention to the defense and our team to finally "play hard?"

The Southern Miss loss cant be overstated. We had an entire offseason to prepare for that game, a 35-10 lead, and still lost. A team that fragile doesnt have the fortitude to rattle off 3 straight SEC Ws againdt Vandy, State, and Mizzou.

I agree they tried. But I mean WKU lost by just as much. I like how the "a win is a win" people wont accept that a loss is a loss. Vandy gets within a TD of beating UF, people act like its nothing same people see positives in a 28 pt loss to Bama. Im proud of how they played in the first but a HC doesnt get props for a 28 pt loss in year 4. Simple as that. We stuck with Bama in the 1st Q in Stoops 1st year too. Our team was motivated, its the #1 team.

All in all im glad they didnt quit. Im proud of the boys. Impressed? No. It was still a whoopin.

Ah, the old "if you don't think like me, you're an idiot" argument...heard in elementary schools since the beginning of time.

No one expected us to win because Stoops has lowered your expectations with his terrible coaching. The fact is, they got smoked. Bama rolled up around 500 yards to our 150 and that's only because they took their foot off the gas at the end. So, the whole "did you really expect us to win" argument doesn't hold water.

If we beat USM and went to Bama at 3-1, and then lost, say, 27-13, you'd have an argument. Then I'd be able to see progress. Bama is at Arkansas next week. They probably didn't even open their playbook against us.

Is it true that Coach Gran said we had too many 3 and outs to get Bennie Snell many carries? If that's not a misprint, or taken out of context, if not, it is mind boggling.
Please quickly go by the football training facility and complete an application for employment as an assistant coach. CMS needs to interview you.

A mistake? He misallocated state funds to hire a chick and fund an affair in what should have been a criminal offense.... By mistake?

OOPS!

I hate calling all out thuggery "mistakes." It was a decision; one of many that prove he's a shitbag of a human being
All of the politicians do it, why can't a coach?

I've read three times in this post "well wku did that". And brohm gets mentioned every single day on here to be next coach that Mitch needs fired for not getting brohm right now. But he has a better team (read that every day) and can coach better (read that every day) but when you compare apples to apples against Alabama the results of the two are exactly the same. So was it stoops coached a better game? Maybe he is the right man do the job, who knows, but we are the youngest team in college football. (Mainly because players getting kicked off and recruiting over the talent that was here and those upperclassman transferring. And those players who were recruited over were coming in on back to back 2-10 season. When you win more (we've done that last two years, you get better talent) funny how talent works

Team is a lot better talent wise since stoops has arrived. But that don't fit the agenda. Next year is a complete roster. It was said all preseason that next year is the year to judge stoops. And I'm standing by that. Coaching errors are fewer. We lined up better last two weeks and defense as they get more experience seem to getting better.

People that cant see this team is improving is blind. We where not gonna beat bama at home lol. The person screaming for Hoak are retarded. Johnson had no time. Bama has the best dline in the country. I thought the defense played pretty well. I came away with hope for a bowl game

You have a lot of nerve insulting peoples intelligence. If youre not an 8th grader, you shpuld really go take an ESL class. My God.

Nice job doing exactly what you are telling people they shouldn't be doing unless your in the eighth grade.

Everyone is looking for an agenda to say "I was right".

I bet most of the posters the last couple weeks would rather us lose every game so they could be right, then to win out and be proven wrong.

No matter if you hate Stoops or not, no matter if you hate Barnhart or not the UK team that just lost to Bama played hard. They made mistakes sure but they were also playing the Number one team in the country on their home field and were not intimidated in the least.

Why did UK lose? Alabama has better players and they have the depth at all positions.

I salute the effort and now build on it and win the games you can win.

If Stoops is let go after the season that's fine but tonight the players played hard and to not give them credit is disgraceful. It true that their is no such thing as a moral victory but tonight Kentucky played as good as they can play and nothing like the Florida game.

Give them credit for showing up.

I don't think anyone has the right to dress down uk fans. our fans are as passionate for fball as any in the country.
I've probably been a fan longer than a big percentage of posters here have been on the planet. 99.9% of criticism on this board is based on documented results of decades of sorry football.

The frustration is justified.

No, I never believed it. But I guess fans gotta talk about something when our program is in the crapper , so pretending we won is acceptable.

You obviously haven't been following UK football very long, we have been in WAY worse "crappers" than this (e.g. - Curry, end of Mumme, beginning of Brooks, all of Joker).

I would say that at this point the team is actually trending up, and seems to be improving which is why I am still supporting them. Now, am I making a prediction that Stoops will ultimately work this out and make a bowl… No, I'm not. What I am saying is the team does appear to be getting better, not worse as many other coaches have done (steep downward decline)… And that's why I will give them full support for the next three games, which will likely determine the fate of the CMS era.

I'll give it a shot. Here is what Gran actually meant to say:

"listen folks, there was no way we were going to beat Alabama, and we have three of the most important games in the season coming up.

Therefore, I did not want to waste Benny for now, who runs with a VERY physical style, on this game. Instead, I wanted to give a broken down senior (Kemp) some clock; a senior who has already seen his best days behind him and is not as valuable to us as Benny. What did you really want me to do, put Benny in and have him run straight ahead only to get injured? You'll would've had my *** had I taken that tact....."

C'mon folks, think a little.

He is saying that Boom is our starting tailback and he would like for him to carry the ball X number of times per game. After that, additional carries will go to other backs. Due to the limited number of plays we ran against Alabama, we did not get to those additional carries.

Its not whether you win or lose its how you play the game.

Good Lord, Grantland Rice on here? Don't you realize that if you lose, even if you you yourself played a perfect game you should commit suicide? You will be ostracized, good thing you aren't on the Transfer U or TU board though, or you would be tarred and feathered. Besides he was a Vandy grad.

Actually that is how I always tried to play my sports, and that includes always trying your best and never giving up, which I think MOST of the team gave a pretty good account of themselves in the Bama game/

But yes, I do think all you losers that didn't become President, make a million, or weren't an All American in your sport should go out and kill yourself, it would make this a more enjoyable board/.

I don't know, I understand where the OP is coming from.. My beef isn't with ANY of the players... it is with the Coaching and the AD..A few coaches excluded, I think they have let us down by year 4. It is hard to live in Louisville and see that they have a top5 team in football and are competative in basketball (other than we beat their *** usually) and appears that we cannot hold a candle in the nations number one sport.... Football. AD at fault.. I am not that intuitive to the inner goings, but something needs to change.. The kids and the fans deserve better.. I hope I am just over reacting and we turn this around stat, I just don't have a bunch of confidence.

All you fans calling for Stoops and mitch's head are wasting your time (I have been calling for mitch's head for years), neither will happen this year, you need to make the best of it and enjoy some great individual talent whether they win the game or not, And after NEXT year you might not want anything but Stoops NOT leaving, my hope.

Meanwhile you idiots are hurting recruiting (that is ALL you will accomplish with your whining) you should be shouting for mitch (IF he is being paid all that money for some obscure reason) to do away with the TREMENDOUS recruiting DISADVANTAGE we have from not spending a measly million or so to improve ALL UK sports by spending as much as CINCINNATI on the COA.

A VITAL step that MUST be addressed but which seems to be a taboo subject on here, never mentioned except by me------you are fiddling while our football program burns down-------where do Thug U, Transfer U, and Bama rank in the COA for recruiting------Bama doubled theirs as soon as the numbers showed Auburn was paying twice as much as them.

mitch (and UK) reverting to their penny wise pound foolish policies he followed with football for TEN YEARS and more,

That us true, did you? (The "I tried" part).

Did you play for Bama?

Sorry I just think the "they're trying harder" is comical considering this is a division 1 SEC football team.

So, Let's get excited when our children's pop warner team "lines up correctly", "plays harder" and "tries their best", and let's treat the big boys who compete on a national level and coaches who make millions like adults, can we?

Btw...is it your or merrimans turn to bring orange slices and juice boxes for the players after the next game? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I'd like to add Bobby Petrino made a mistake in life, but can coach like a Mofo!!
Make that several mistakes! Louisville didn't give him a second chance! They gave him his fourth or fifth chance! I'm still glad that we didn't hire Petrino!

The "then" was blowing a 35-10 lead to Southern Miss by giving up 32 straight in one half.

The "then" was getting blasted by a mediocre but talented Gator squad 45-7.

The "then" was giving up 42 points to New Mexico State.

The "now" is "holding" the 115th ranked Gamecock offense to 10 pts.

The "now" is playing one great quarter vs Bama on defense before they quit testing us and just drew up vanilla plays to chip away and wear out the clock while giving Hurts some oppportunities to work on extending the field occasionally.

I'm sorry, but so far it all looks like fool's gold. That is simply stating the facts. If it seems negative, it's because our performance has been. People on here seem to have an issue with anyone pointing out the glaringly obvious problems we just shoudnt havr in yesr 4 of an adminstration that is supposed to be on an upward trajectory. I see regression.
