Without your linebackers maybe Murphy coaches are planning to play a ball control game. I believe with your bigger line you may be able to have long, time possession drives and just keep thier O off the field as much as possible. If they do have speed I would be a little concerned about your kick-offs , he's not a very long kicker. But they have only had 4 touchbacks on kick-offs themselves so maybe Murphy will get their chance for big run backs as well.Murphy needs to contain the edge defensively if they want to win, that will obviously be much harder without OLB's #32 and #40. If they can I believe they will win, if not it will probably be a long ride home.
Yeah I would say this is highly probable and probably Murphy's best play without the big play threat of #32 on offense or him and #40's speed at linebacker.Without your linebackers maybe Murphy coaches are planning to play a ball control game. Some people were saying earlier in this thread that the state won't overturn an ejection, only a DQ, is this true? That doesn't even make sense though, why would the state bother overturning a DQ since it doesn't carry an additional game suspension?Pretty good pic of the Robbinsville kid holding McTaggert's ankles on the Citizen-Times web page. I'm saying this ejection gets overturned.
I don't know anything for sure but I went on My40's website and thier schedule doesn't show them broadcasting the game. On nchsaa site shows all the games being streamed on the NFHS network but looks like you have to subscribe for $9.95 per month. I will have to just keep up with it on my cellphone maybe wear ear piece and listen to it on radio because I will be at UNCC at 3 for my daughter's graduation. Will my40 televise the game
Maybe common sense judgment will prevail. Anyone who played the game knows that play didn’t call for a ejection. 15 yd unsportsmanlike yes but that’s it. How many former players has been bit, clawed, grabbed etc. Its Football !! Things that go on at the bottom of a pile hasn’t changed and never will. The language in a game will never change If you have players swinging and fighting throw them out. Officials should have been bigger than this and know that their call was giving a young man the death sentence with only one game left in his career. The biggest game in his career. Officials should have gotten together and made the correct call Unsportsmanlike conduct !!Some people were saying earlier in this thread that the state won't overturn an ejection, only a DQ, is this true? If it's true I don't understand why there would even be an appeal process, if it wasn't possible for the state overturn the additional game suspension for an ejection then it seems pointless to have an appeal process.

And Robbinsville still got the brakes beat off them without him. Time for you to hit the basketball boards."If you have players swinging and fighting throw them out".... swinging = out, but not kicking? The only difference is... kicking is more dangerous.
Football is dangerous !! Leading with a helmet is dangerous, grabbing someone’s face mask and twisting their head is dangerous, horse collar is dangerous, chop block is dangerous !! The only one of these dangerous calls that gets ejected is leading with the helmet ( targeting ). But when you are wrapped up on the ground trying to get up and you kick the defender ? No !! How many times in football have you seen defenders lay on the runner so they can’t get up. How many times have you seen them wrap up and not let go !! Its football"If you have players swinging and fighting throw them out".... swinging = out, but not kicking? The only difference is... kicking is more dangerous.
I don’t know if that was the soul purpose of the Robbinsville player or not to try and hurt Slade’s ankle but I do know this Slade would never just kick another player for no reason! It’s very sad that a player as good as Slade has been over the years will not get the chance to play in his last high school football game. He always gave 110 percent and is a fine young man !! Thank you Slade for all the heart and soul you put into the game ! Proud you are a Bulldog!Robbinsville accomplished exactly what they set out to do. Unfortunately they still got smacked in the mouth.

#17, whoever that isWho was the player supposedly twisting his ankle I haven't saw the video
Think about what you are saying, you are accusing a teenager of trying to take another player out of a game. That's ridiculous these kids play against each other from termites all the way to their senior year in HSI don’t know if that was the soul purpose of the Robbinsville player or not to try and hurt Slade’s ankle but I do know this Slade would never just kick another player for no reason! That sounds more like the truth, but when he kicked he happened to hit the R'ville player in the facemaskI don't imagine it was a dirty play. I'm thinking he held on to his foot and with #32's history with his ankle he wanted his foot out of the pile and kicked to get free nothing malicious on both parts more than likely just an overreaction by the officials. It's really a shame.
At this point it doesn’t matter. The state made a ruling and Murphy has to live with it. I’m sure the player in question is a great kid, but something happened that provoked the situation. No one but those two know.
Someone might find something different but from what I can find NFHS rules for the is: Rule 2-20-2 provides a definition for targeting. Targeting is an act of taking aim and initiating contact to an opponent above the shoulders with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulders. The penalty for targeting is 15 yards. The offending player may be disqualified if the foul is deemed to be flagrant. And under NCHSAA rules disqualified vs ejected is dq is just the remainder of that game and ejected depending on the reason can be for 1 or 2 games. NCHSAA rules for ejection: Fighting, which includes, but is not limited to, combative acts such as: (1) An altercation between 2 or more parties that includes swinging, hitting, punching and/or kicking (2) An attempt to strike an opponent with a fist, hands, arms, legs, feet, or equipment (3) An attempt to punch or kick an opponent, regardless of whether or not contact is made (4) An attempt to instigate a fight by committing an unsportsmanlike act toward an opponent that causes an opponent to retaliate (5) Leaving the bench area to participate in a fight (contact or no contact) (b) Leaving the bench area-- coming on to the playing area when there is not a fight (c) Flagrant contact, which includes, but is not limited to, combative acts such as: (1) Maliciously running over the catcher/fielder without attempt to avoid contact (2) Excessive contact out-of-bounds or away from playing action than is unwarranted and extreme in nature (3) Tackling/taking down a player dangerously in a malicious manner (4) Illegally hitting or cross-checking an opponent in an excessive manner with the stick in lacrosse (d) Biting observed or determined by an official (e) Taunting, baiting or spitting toward an opponent or official..... So targeting is a 15 yard penalty and at most dq for remainder of game. And my guess is under Fighting (1) kicking, that they probably don't care if he had a justified reason or not. It's a judgement call by the refs but once he called it and even if a rules committee watching the film agreed the other player wouldn't let go or twisting his ankle and they sympathized with the young man, the call was made and the rules are not flexible and sure there's no way they could over turn it.Football is dangerous !! 1. For the love of....Just shut up.I finally saw a picture of the kick, it looks like he kicked the R'ville player in the arm or shoulder area with his good foot
Why do I have to shut up, I didn't make the call, I didn't make the tackle, and I for sure didn't kick anybody.1. For the love of....Just shut up.
2. This ain’t right. Period. To take this away from him. The state game. He served his punishment and this is excessive. I’ve seen DQ’s for more than this....ridiculous.

I’m not accusing anyone of a thing ! If you read the post like I said I don’t know if the RHS player meant to try and hurt Slade or not!
