Nagao never got going since he arrived. Didn’t he hurt a knee early on and then the illness and now a shoulder injury. He’s battling through it but he is not the same kid we saw in 2022/23 while at Minnesota.

Totally agreed. We all know the potential he has, but if Davis has the weight on early enough, I think it’s a lot closer than we’d think who is starting. Could he still take the shirt anyway for the sake of the lineup and to get some experience at 133? Absolutely. Mostly just hope Nagao can get right health-wise and start building off his freshman year.

He needs to improve on his feet. I’m just hoping his shoulder is alright. That’s one of the worse injuries a wrestler can have. Perfect example is Robbie Howard.

It would be sadly ironic that two years and weight classes in a row, Davis takes the spot of a guy with a bad shoulder.
