In his 3 years while UL has been a member of the ACC, Petrino has led them to an amazing 5-10 record against teams who finish the season with a winning record (2016 stats as of this weekend). That's not ranked teams, that is teams that finish with a winning record.

Also, another crazy stat is that they play two teams each year from the Coastal Division. Here are the 2 teams they have played since joining the ACC:

2014
5-7 Virginia (tied for last place in Coastal) - W
6-7 Miami (tied for last place in Coastal) - W

2015
4-8 Virginia (5th place in Coastal) - W
8-5 Pitt (2nd place in Coastal) - L

2016
4-8 Duke (last place in Coastal) - W
2-10 Virginia (last place in Coastal) - W

Charlie Strong was overrated and only won because of honorable mention all American Teddy Bridgewater. (Goes 21-3 plus wins sugar bowl)

Bobby Petrino is an offensive genius that makes Heisman winner Lamar Jackson look good. (Goes 17-8)

It is a yearly thing with the Cards. They typically beat no one of substance. They did beat a down FSU finally this season but after that Wake Forest is their best win.

Yet folks here thought he could dance through the SEC.

This is the identity of the UL program. I've said it 100 times here. They do not win many games against good teams. They feasted on Tuesday / Wed / Thurs / Friday night games in their small conferences and convinced ESPN and the ACC that they had a "powerhouse" program but they beat very few good teams along the way (UF in Sugar Bowl, FSU this year, but not many others).

Duh Ville Football Program is as overvalued as Facebook stock shares. Take away their Sugar Bowl victory against a Florida team that had ZERO desire to be there and they really haven't done ANYTHING special since that Clown was hired.

Thats actually a pretty good comparison. Both get all of their value out of ad placement. Im amazed Tom Jurich hasn't gotten local liquor stores to sponsor the players uniforms.

Yet folks here thought he could dance through the SEC.

Idk about dance, but he won 10 and 11 games his last two years in the SEC West at ARk in years AU and Bama won the national titles. The East is a much weaker version of the West at present.

On the OP's topic, interesting stats. They benefit from Virginia being their cross division rival for sure. And to people talking about how UL's success has been due to QB mainly...well duh. That is how it works in football a ton at college and pro levels. I think UL and Petrino will dip next year and he will run and take another job IMO.

Again, No UL trolls wanna chime in on this? A week ago there would already be about 10 of them littering this thread. They're all too chickensh!t to show their face over here after that dagger to the heart on Saturday. [roll]
