My wife and I went to Bryson City this weekend and rode the Steam engine train there. Had a good time. After I did the wifey thing with her we rode to see Swain Counties football stadium and then we went to Cherokee. Couldn't get the best look at Cherokee's but it's really nice. This morning as we left I turned off into Canton and I told her I wanted her to see the place that is at the top of my bucket list for high school games. I'm telling you Pisgah has an awesome place. I parked close to the fence where the monument is at and I brought up the youtube video of the helicopter dropping off the Bear. Where we were parked was close to the place that the person was at just inside the fence filming the youtube video. Since the Tuscola game is away this coming season I think I will start planning to go back the following season and take in the rivalry game. You guy's have an awesome place. It will be worth the 7 hour drive to see a game there.

Yea I saw that and showed it to my wife. She is not a big sports fan but she will go with me to games. I think I will start planning a waterfall trip in that part of the State and go around looking at waterfalls. We enjoy doing that. We took in Socho falls in Cherokee last weekend. My problem is that my wife is a teacher and is not allowed to take vacation when students are in school. They have to do that on O days. It sucks.

Go west of Murphy and hike to Turtletown Falls. Well worth the drive.

Dupont State park is a very popular waterfall hike with some good bike trails as well.

Agree 4411...Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock are not too far from Pisgah, then you can hit Dupont for some more falls as 51 said. If you are going, get there early.

I did them 2 years ago. Looking glass was fun to see. It was getting dark when we went to sliding rock. I would like to go back in the summer and slide down it. Maybe a 60 yr old could handle that.
