He will be mostly remembered by me for ending the UF streak...and beating them a few more times after that. What a curse on UK football that streak was.

Listening to personalities giddy about the firing of someone is not how I'll spend any of my time. They better have their sht together on the new hire already, and people better be ready for a rebuild over the next couple years.
I am very excited to see who is going to be the next football coach at the University of Kentucky.
I'm not giddy that someone got fired. It needed to happen but obviously, I'd have preferred the scenario of Stoops maintaining what he accomplished. Honestly, MOST of my frustration has actually been directed at Mitch. I went out of my way to praise Stoops after we beat Auburn and Florida, and honestly thought that he'd actually make a bowl.
Hopefully Mitch isn’t allowed to make this call.

I truly hope that Mitch has zero part in the new hire.
Finishing 3rd in the conference, 2 10 win seasons, giving UL beatdowns and Ls when the Crds were favored, the Lynn Bowden comeback season, beating PSU, Iowa, and others in bowl games, ...running it down people's throats, then hitting over the top for big plays, the guys we've put into the NFL, the defensive stops and big plays, ... taking the Catwalk to new levels, getting the upgrades done that should've happened under Brooks..., 8 straight bowl games...
He'll be remembered by me for all of the great games, the gimmicks, and the recruiting. I won't forget the uncovered receivers, bad clock management, and playing not to lose that cost us games, but I won't throw out the baby with the bath water, either.
I enjoyed and appreciate what he did here. All of the asholes that made it personal and degrading because they were wrong about what he could accomplish won't change that for me. I wish him the best, and hope he finds an even better gig, fixes the things that cost him this one, and rebuilds his relationship with his family with the time he has.
I just hope the next coach is as good as Stoops at developing quarterbacks and time management at the end of the half.
He's no George Strait, but he's no Garth Brooks, either.

I was referring solely to the KSR show, not you personally. Agree on the rest 100%. If he kicks those FGs against Texas, this whole thing is turned on its head. I feel bad for him, but it's not like he isn't getting a big payday, and he made the decisions along the way that landed him where he is. Stubbornness is a tough B**** to beat.

Decent of Stoops to restructure the buyout. Not the amount (because he shouldn't have to anyway. I mean, there is no way in hell I would have), but the time frame.

Wow. He didn't have to do that. Even with his flaws, he's got class and is appreciated.
I'm happy Stoops is gone. We need to start over - again. But I'm not happy. Sad that it had to come to this.

There is always risk, when you hire someone that has never been a head coach, but the consensus is that he's going to start getting pretty good offers after this season or next. IOW, he's on a lot of national radars already; primarily because of his knack for developing/elevating quarterbacks.
So, we'll see. If not him, I at least hope we go with someone that comes from the offensive side of the ball, understands QB play and can "scheme" guys open.
