That's unfortunate...

How on earth do you not decide, at an EARLY EARLY age, to go by your middle name?

The hire has to be one of these 3 guys. Stein Hartline or Chesney. All three have potential to be very good or home run hires.

Hartline has an obvious connection to UK with his brother being here already. Stein has connections to the state. And Chesney comes from a place where Cignetti was at.
Stein is who I think of for this gig. That's who I would go with. He fits the mold I envision for this program- young offensive-mind and has connections to the area.

Will Stein

There is always risk, when you hire someone that has never been a head coach, but the consensus is that he's going to start getting pretty good offers after this season or next. IOW, he's on a lot of national radars already; primarily because of his knack for developing/elevating quarterbacks.

So, we'll see. If not him, I at least hope we go with someone that comes from the offensive side of the ball, understands QB play and can "scheme" guys open.

i can see the kid filming this when his mom walks in ... cmon mom!! i making the VIDEO! geesh! can you knock?!?!

There is no such thing as a home run hire with a coordinator....all of that is to be determined. One may have a quality resumé but until they ride the HC chair, you never know, especially in the SEC. Connections used to mean something....not now with NIL.

Saw a clip of the KSR Rapid Reaction and Nick Rousch is a d**k. No one should be that giddy about someone being fired. No class whatsoever. It was as expected that they were classlessly excited about this.
Not gonna lie. Might as well change my name to Classless SenseMaker. This isn’t Bob from accounting being walked out. It’s a handsomely paid coach with 38 million waiting on him.

I'm not giddy that someone got fired. It needed to happen but obviously, I'd have preferred the scenario of Stoops maintaining what he accomplished. Honestly, MOST of my frustration has actually been directed at Mitch. I went out of my way to praise Stoops after we beat Auburn and Florida, and honestly thought that he'd actually make a bowl.

He didn't accomplish anything. He was a clown show for years.

Absolutely. You dont even know for sure with a head coach. Look at Jimbo Fisher at A&M. Kelly at LSU.

Connections still mean something. That hasn't changed.

Hartline is a LOT more connected to OSU. THAT also will not change. If he had the job here, and did well, he'd definitely leave for OSU if they came calling.

Told you the propaganda surrounding Kiffin leaving was going to try to pin it all on him... Looks like Wetzel is the p*ss boy for the Ole Miss admin.

If you don't want Kiffin to leave before the post-season is over, don't force him to accept a position before the playoff is done. This is EXACTLY why you leave OM for LSU. This is why you don't look back, and don't worry what people say afterward.

Agree on the connections. Especially with similarly situated programs going after the same recruit. In those cases it comes down to good ole fashioned recruiting.
