My takeaway from the game and I think is maybe being overlooked because its a rival.. Louisville is probably gonna be a top10 team most of the year, with a lottery pick in Mikel Brown, and will likely be in contention for an E8 or even F4. They played very well last night and trying to bring a brand new team into the Bucket and get a win for game 3, was not going to be easy.

That said, have to go sign some real talent.

I enjoy driving through redneck America. I lived in Manila for almost 3 years and it brings back memories of all the poors. All happily taking your tax money. Thieves.
The poor thieves in Manila must miss you and your generosity. Maybe consider moving back?

That's the only thing I hate about basketball. You can play someone and they just hit every damn shot. And there's nothing you can do.
Yes you can. You can play D & be in their face when they shoot. They were ridiculously more wide open on 3's than we were. Add in our horrendous unforced passing errors & you get what happened.

8 points is not a blow out. No surprise either this early in the season. The team hasn't had time to gel yet. Give it time. I can give many examples of great UK teams getting beat in November.
LV got tired of scoring & took the foot off the pedal.

I actually love nyc so i hate what is coming. Midtown is the neighborhood I'm going to pay attention to.

No one living there or having office space there did it because it was a good financial decision. It was all about appearances and brand building. Money alone wont drive their decision because they'll never run out of money.

All the other stuff will drive their decisions. Crime, socialist state takeover of private business, influx of Muslims, etc.

So we will see what happens in that section of town.

I don't suspect to see anything happening immediately but it's something to watch. Midtown money doesn't run out, so taxes etc just isn't going to move the needle there imo.

Bahahahah, a government employee wants to call me military ranks. I know the best your life has ever been was when you were shootin’ commies, but some of us grow up. Get a job in the private sector. If you last a week I’ll send you a nice bottle of bourbon.
You were gifted a job by your father-in-law 😂.

Can you imagine having your father-in-law be your boss? What about knowing your wife’s dad had to give you a job so you could take care of his daughter 😂.

From this morning's WSJ. Eat it, China!

"America’s chip restrictions are biting in China, where shortages of advanced semiconductors are so acute that Beijing is intervening and some labs are smuggling high-performance Nvidia chips."
"the new Cold War is the race for AI superiority. We're going inside China's plan to compete with U.S. computing power by creating a countrywide network of smaller data centers. That's after the break. The race to build an AI superintelligence, one that surpasses human intelligence and has the ability to improve itself, has a lot of incentives for the country who wins. The U.S. has had the advantage for years now, with advanced chips and financial firepower from private American investors. But China is catching up. And both powers recognize that there's a threat a superintelligence could pose."

I don't know what mds is, but the spending bill was atrocious and everyone should've voted against it. We're spending way too much money.

I look at actions, not who did them.
Mitch Derangement Syndrome. This is another case of it.

As for the bill bein atrocious, how does it stack up with the previous 4? I say considerably better while not good. I take what I can get.

So you're all-in with Schumer on keeping government shutdown?

You married into America, got a job from your American FIL, and are apparently given a monthly allowance to be able to live here and you still think Canada could beat people like me? I would be Prime Minster in half a year there. However, if you wanted to be an American so bad, you could have immigrated, joined the military (you would have had to grow a pair first) to get citizenship. But being a weasel canuck, you just don't pack the gear.

Wait long enough and it will be awarded to you by default once canada becomes the 52 state. At least then, you can feign to be a man.

he brags about the financial success he has gained in the US but then acts like the US should be remade in Canada’s image. LOL

We are talking about people with government jobs. If an ATC can't make it for six weeks, that ATC employee is not living within their means.
I mentioned young people in the military. Not an air traffic controller. We are talking less that $30,000 per year. Not all fed gov entry level employees are ATC level paid.

Data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics suggests that the median salary for an air traffic controller in 2024 was $144,580 per year, equating to approximately $69 per hour. This is significantly higher than the median salary for all jobs across the US, which is currently around $46,300.

The average federal government salary sits at around $97,456 in 2025, individual pay can vary dramatically depending on a range of factors.

One of the most significant influences on a federal employee's pay is where they work. Unlike many private sector jobs, the federal government uses a locality pay system to adjust salaries based on the cost of living in specific geographic regions.

The military families are the group that gives me concern. They are the people living on thin margins and quickly impacted if payday does not happen. Federal government employees, not so much to my understanding.
Military families are fed gov employees.

I have been RIFed more than once in my career with no safety net other than my savings and UI. Twice, my wife and I were simultaneously RIFed from different completely unrelated companies. Once in the same week and the other in the same month. Dual income to UI income while my daughter was attending private school.

We made it by tightening the belt when hard times hit. The majority of our vacations were spent at home doing the home maintenance that is difficult to do while working. I drove my 1994 F-150 for 25 years. We never drive a car for less than 10 years. I currently drive a 2010 Ford Fusion and my wife drives a 2018 Ford Edge. My first home loan was at 18%. Live within your means and save money for the rainy day that is guaranteed to come.

I stand by my statement. It's not what you make. It's what you spend.

Stepping off of my soap box.
I applaud your successes in tough times. It’s just not relevant to the fact that young people making starting pay can be in a pickle if they have to go six weeks without a paycheck.

Midtown is still seeing boarded up windows and businesses that never came back after covid. The real estate #'s are a result of new leases from existing clients and companies getting people back in the offices....thus, more space needed. The new blood is a slow trickle and likely to remain as such pending the effects of Mamcommie's policies.

Those smaller businesses are one thing but Im talking about the skyscrapers and luxury apartments. The latter is who will be targeted for tax revenue and in curious if they stay put or not.
