It was reported last night that the Dodgers reached an agreement in principle with him on a contract that will pay him 44 million total over the next 5 years and a two year option after that. Why take the chance however small, that another team could improve? ;)

I thought Tennessee was gonna scoop and score with that guy. He really put the mustard on that throw. Guess they didn't have the fore sight to sign him before the Dodgers.

I don't think Lane Kiffin is "capable" of even considering the possibility that he might have made a mistake at one time or another in his life.

Exactly!

that said, it does seem like a lateral move.*

*Just looked, and was surprised to find that LSU has a considerably larger athletic budget (220 million) than Ole Miss (157 million)

Yeah. It's not a lateral move. Just seems like it because they've slipped up a bit under Kelly.

While that may be true it’s completely irrelevant in today’s college landscape. The only thing that matters is NIL money.

LSU told Kiffin he would have $25 million in NIL money available which is more than Ole Miss. However…Ole Miss said they would match that.

If both programs have $25 million at their disposal for NIL money then they are on equal footing as far as recruiting goes. Because that is all that matters to the 5 stars & 4 stars.

With that in mind, I think it’s a bad move for Kiffin to go to LSU. If he doesn’t have them in the playoffs in 2-3 years…they will move on. Ole Miss isn’t going to fire him ever…short of some kind of scandal.

I know that LSU is offering more money in salary/bonuses…but Kiffin has plenty of money and the difference isn’t that great. The reason he is leaving is because he is chasing a Natty. I think he has just as good a chance to get one at Ole Miss in today’s landscape (NIL & transfer portal)…with much less pressure & much more job security.

Prediction: Kiffin doesn’t last 4 seasons at LSU

Yall think nobody cares anymore about winning titles, but that's not true. Some also think a prestigious program name doesn't matter, but that's also not true.

LSU won 3 titles in the last 20+ years. Ole Miss hasn't won one since the 60s. Imo, if Kiffin wins a title at Ole Miss this season, he might stay. Otherwise he will go and get one at LSU, because he can attract and afford to pay for the best defensive staff in the country.

But I hope you're right about him not winning a title there.

I was just telling my wife that the weather is not the reason. She is realizing that the UK's form of government is not conducive to her mouthy lifestyle. Plus, she sees the problems they are having with immigrants and the crimes being committed and wants to leave but would not ever make that known as her actual excuse.

Agreed. They are likely leaving because Ellen's wife is in danger of becoming a statistic in Cotswold.

Max wins again, Lando bottles the start, and doesn't make the podium. Max 12 points behind going into the last race. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

It would still take Max winning the last race and Lando missing the podium next week, but it would be the greatest comeback in F1 history if Max can do it. 104 points behind, 2 months ago. LOL

Something has happened to X in the past 3-4 weeks because the algorithm got completely jacked and is promoting a certain viewpoint and people that are not anyone I follow or agree with and it’s happened to pretty much everyone as well.

Let me get in front of this vehicle and push up against it while running backwards. With a mask on hahaha

At what point should it be legal everywhere to protect yourself? Imagine if your wife or daughter was surrounded by a mob of people pounding on their vehicle. What do you tell them to do? Where’s the limit on their lives being in danger? 2 people? 5? 10? 20?

sumrall to uf ... dammit

We could have easily had him a couple years ago. Maybe could have had him if the job was open last year.

If the history of UK football tells us anything, he is likely to be incredibly successful down there just cause it will cause us pain. Hell he will probably win a national title in 4 or 5 years haha.

Compare that with UK since Stoops was hired. Looks better at FL than UK to me. Not that I watch games or care.

UF has 92 wins and UK has 82 wins since 2013, so less than +1 per year. UF had 6 losing seasons, while UK had 5. Which one is "better"?

Also consider that UK started at MAC talent from 2012, while UF was barely removed from multiple national titles.

Why don't we trade buyout amounts with LSU for Stoops ($38M) & Kelly ($56M) & take on Kelly as coach? By the time Mitch fires him, his buyout will be gone.

Before Spurrier, Florida was a winnable game here or there. Fun fact: only two sec teams have ever gone winless (0-11). South Carolina and Florida.

Anyone else used to watch Alan Partridge. I'd forgotten how funny Mid Morning Matters was.

"Who doesn't like the face of a smiling baby?"

(co-host) "Herod?" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Which muppet? LOL

I thought his career pretty much ended after the tv show. Glad to see he made it after all.

Cmon get hap-py!!

Next she'll be pushing to rename it Contswold
