2. Poindexter I guess by default due to his stats, none of the other QB's in Surry/Stokes are that convincing to me right now. He is really fortunate to have had the talent he has had.. without them I'm not sure if he coulda got there being so young. He woulda done okay in 18 but Greene's 1 and 2 woulda made anyone look good. 2020's gonna show what he really has and it might be interesting. In 2017 on JV he had to carry things by himself.
HM/Players to Watch: You don't have to count this Heart Pump if you don't want too but these are the kids I think that could have good years. Figured I'd give them a look since no one else would mention them.
-Treyson Mabe from North Stokes I think has a lot of potential to be a solid QB for them. He has the best arm since the all state kid was there when Lippard was there. He can chunk it, and he threw it all over West Wilkes last year. Seen him in middle school and he could then too. If he gets some coaching and gets in the weight room I see him doing something this year. Their non conference schedule is quite competitive for them and I see him doing okay in it. The South Davidson and Chatham Central games could be quite interesting, especially the latter considering their QB's thrown for close to 4,000 yards in 2 years of play. Might be a QB duel.
-The Godbey kid from Elkin could be pretty good. He runs the option as good and as seemless as any QB they've had since Wood's been there, ? mark is his arm. He didn't throw it that outstanding from what I remember when we played them last year. If he can get it going they could do well in that conference. He was West Wilkes's best player but for Elkin to get him was a nice get, West will be rough without him.
-Hear a lot of talk on South's QB Carrick, kid can run and chunk it good. If Diamont can settle him down a little bit into an I QB he could be one of the better QB's South has had in a long time. He loves to run it so I hope Diamont uses that some.
