When we get a QB that reads defenses, controls the game, understands how to use timing and momentum, and plays with maturity, we will be a real football team.
Tell me exactly which college team has a great back up? Which leads to there are only a handful of teams that have recruited legit back up QB.No way it’s all on Malik. Where’s the coaching to make him better? If he doesn’t accept the coaching or, can’t get better - where’s the recruiting to bring in someone who can get it done? It begins and end
Well - FSU’s backup sure looked great against us. That said, I’m talking about about developing the #1 to a point where they’re better than when you found them. Or, be able to recruit someone better. Satterfield - like him or not - failed at both and, here we are.Tell me exactly which college team has a great back up? Again let’s not hold Satterfield to a higher standard because we don’t like him.
Yeah, there is a definite issue with getting into the formation in time for our qbs to try and see what the defense is doing. Either that or they're being told not to check down on anything.a QB that reads defenses
You act as if coaches are just playing “Madden” and the players have no responsibility. If they play poorly, it’s because they weren’t “coached up”. If they lack talent, they shouldn’t have been recruited. The players have no accountability? Come on. You know better than that. Maybe if there was a high school draft instead of recruiting you would have a point. Sometimes recruits just don’t want to come to your school, no matter who the coach is.No way it’s all on Malik. QB is a hardest position on the field. It requires a very unique skill set. That is the reason there aren’t many really good ones.Well - FSU’s backup sure looked great against us. That said, I’m talking about about developing the #1 to a point where they’re better than when you found them. Or, be able to recruit someone better. I agree with your point to an extent. But every player has things they do well and things they don't. MC has always been too risky with the ball and I believe it's because he does not read defenses well. And I guarantee you the Coaches worked with him on it. . The interception he threw in the second half was ridiculous. There were 3 UK defenders right there. There was no way that pass had a chance.Well - FSU’s backup sure looked great against us. Interesting. And given how easy it was to see all that, who was the idiot that inserted Malik into the game?Any idiot should be able to see that Malik was far less than 100%, and he continues to struggle seeing the field. The sack and the interception (threw in to triple coverage) eliminated any chance to be in position to win.
UK has a first round NFL QB ……. we do not.
Exactly. Look coaches get the blame I get it. It is amazing how we view the power of coaches. At this level you aren’t out scheming teams to 10 wins. If you have good schemes and they are executed you will be in most games. At some point as the level of competition goes up more talent is required to execute your scheme.I agree with your point to an extent. But every player has things they do well and things they don't. Teddy B knew where he was going with the ball before the ball was even snapped because he knew what the coverage was pre-snap.

I’m not acting as if the coaches are playing Madden anymore than you are saying that the players don’t need coaches or, coaching. You act as if coaches are just playing “Madden” and the players have no responsibility. Besides the laser accuracy on short passes, the success that Brady has had over the years is because of this I think. He just knows where the open guy is gonna be before the snap.Teddy B knew where he was going with the ball before the ball was even snapped because he knew what the coverage was pre-snap.
Additionally the post was highlighting that with good coaching and player buy in - you can go to the B1G conference championship with a former 8th string walk on as your QB.
I disagree. Yes some of it is coaching but a lot of it is on Malik. Dude is not a leader in the huddle, he still has a less than average arm, and he can’t read defenses. If you take away his running ability he can’t throw U of L to a win.All we heard about Teddy was that he knew the playbook in and out.We all know Coach Strong wanted to play conservative so to me it was Teddy that ones us those games.Lamar used his legs but he could manipulate a defense and he could sling the ball.I just think for all the time Malik was here he just never took the next step which I don’t see how you can just blame Satterfield. No way it’s all on Malik. 1. Read my post about four up - not placing all the blame on Satterfield but, saying that he bears some responsibility for his players improving. Can we agree on that?I disagree. Doman will still be around but, I’ll bet money that any new QB is basically in the same category as him as, the job is going to be handed to Clarkson. The Malik era is a step away from being over. It is fair to say his career did not really take that next step whatever a stat says. Some stats inflated by big #'s vs lesser.
I wish we were auditioning a QB in the bowl game, but we just aren't.
I am really looking forward to seeing what QB Satt gets from the portal, if he can.
He held the ball too long. Not a quick decision maker. I like what I’ve seen from him this season, but last night, he looked inept, unprepared. Credit their defense, sure, but he’s got to play smarter.Tbh. They should’ve left Dohman start and stay in the game. Develop a rhythm. This loss wasn’t just on the offense today though. We couldn’t stop their tight ends or Rodriguez. Still not impressed with Kentucky though.
Can’t disagree, he was slow out of the pocket. He held the ball too long. Not a quick decision maker. I like what I’ve seen from him this season, but last night, he looked inept, unprepared. Credit their defense, sure, but he’s got to play smarter.
He has a winning percentage of under .500 as a starting QB for FSU... but yeah, you got itOur qb upgrade is sitting at fsu winning games
Wow, Ghost- you are really bitter toward Satt.Interesting. And given how easy it was to see all that, who was the idiot that inserted Malik into the game?
Lol - ok. I was responding to the post regarding the uk game saying that “Any idiot should be able to see that Malik was far less than 100%, and he continues to struggle seeing the field.”Wow, Ghost- you are really bitter toward Satt.
