If Donte is going to win his first game we will need Slovis not to turn the ball over. The line that opened at 10 is now down to 7. The way Slovis has been playing lately plus the rain are two reasons the Cougars could make life tough on us. If Slovis struggles badly, throwing in the 18-year-old in the rain and on the road will be a tough call for Donte. However, the way things have been going lately Dart 🎯 better be ready.

Harrell has to learn to adjust his game to wet, snow, hot etc.
That is what makes a great OC.
Good at more than one thing.

Right now it could rain through the first half.

Thankfully they play on artificial surface and the rain won't be as much of a problem as a grass field.
Ingram and Malepeai should do well if we bring the right shoes. Maybe Barlow and Christon get a shot too.

Slovis needs to act like a leader and inspire his teammates to play like winners. His leadership qualities have been in question. Who is Kedon Slovis? Why doesn’t he wear the “C” on his Jersey? After the SJS game he said we had low energy. That comment was cryptic in a way. Whatever he meant it didn’t help the following week against Stanford. What’s going on? I think the reason bettors are jumping on WSU (line dropping fast at last check) is not Helton or Donte or the rain. I think it’s Slovis. He has looked shaky. This would be a good time for him to break out of his slump and be the quarterback we expected him to be. Be a leader Slovis, show some fire 🔥! Tell your teammates to take care of business (and the ball 🏈) and kick some Cougar ***!

I'm meanwhile champing at the bit to see Jaxson Dart get a serious shot to see what he can do with his big time wheels and rocket arm alleged charisma and leadership.

On the other hand if USC can establish the run game that would take pressure off Slovis on a rainy day.
Exactly right! Running the ball has always been the solution. F’ing air raid is ridiculous! Somebody once said that throwing the ball can have 3 outcomes and two of them are bad.

Putting your balls all in one basket is never a good idea.

The QB gets too much credit and too much blame. There are holes throughout this team.
Can anyone but London get open?
Can USC run the ball effectively on first and second down?
Can the OL give Slovis 3 seconds in a clean pocket?
Can the DL actually pressure the QB?
Can USC play with maximum enthusiasm and effort for four quarters?
Can the coaches make adjustments throughout the game to counter WSU?
Can USC stop all the self-sabotaging penalties?
Can USC score TD's in the red zone instead of FG's?
Can the D swarm and wrap-up?
Can the kicker not get ejected?

It's a perfect scenario to forgo all the pass-happy crap regardless the game situation of the last 2+ years and POUND THE ROCK!

Hurt them inside, gash the LOS, make them quit: DESTROY THEM!

Slovis needs to play loose and think for himself. Identify advantages and attack them in real time. Hopefully Donte encourages this. No predecided passes before the snap. Which I blame Harrell for.. let him read the defense and use his field awareness.

Agree with all except #1. Receivers are open. Can Slovis find them is the question.

The start of his season has been pretty lackluster thus far
