Now that the Saints finally won a game, Rattler is getting a good bit of recognition for the improvement he has made in Year 2. Completion % is up from 57% to 67. He's 3rd in the league in completions, with 119. Last year in 7 games he had 4 TDs against 5 INTs. This year through 5 games it's 5/1. He's the first Saints-drafted QB to win a game since 1998.

His marked improvement has given some reason to reconsider that the Saints might pursue a QB in the upcoming draft. It's a high risk move to dump Rattler and draft a new QB. If Rattler keeps playing well, you have a QB who has already demonstrated he's capable. Draft a new QB and you start all over again, maybe with a QB who won't prove to be capable. Exhibit A: Rattler is having, by some accounts, a superior year to former #1 pick Caleb Williams. Or at least comparable.

I think the Saints would be best advised to just try getting more pieces to put around Rattler. Several of his throws from their win against the Giants were highlighted on various shows on Sunday for the high level of skill. He's shown he can make every throw and his decision-making has increased by leaps and bounds just from last year.
