Looks like we will find out latest attempt on Thursday.

What do those who did not like either the first or second drafts hope to see on this third try?

I liked the 2nd draft for SWO . Mo better would be if we were in with Clinton, WRH, ect.

I think the conference THS is going into is happy overall with the way it looks. Would be surprised to see it change other than maybe TW Andrews being added (doubtful).

Got to do something with WRH conference. No way the Duplin County schools should be forced to drive to Robeson County for conference games or vice versa.

3rd draft looks better for Duplin schools. I would move SWO out to East Carteret conference since EC is only 2A in that split league. Do that, and you make a six team conference which might make scheduling easier.

Huss wins an appeal to stay 3A. The rumor on the 3A board proved true. All they did was move them from our conference to the Big South. But this would be a better plan (Rosman goes back to the SMC).

Clinton makes more sense in the conference they were assigned. I think those are schools they might have been aligned with in the past.

I think what they have proposed here makes much more sense.

Mitchell, I’m pretty sure the playoff rules change this year and being 2a we would have to finish ahead of most if not all the 1a schools in the conference to make the playoffs or get a home game anyway. I’m pretty sure the 1-2 win teams who beat the only other team in their class receiving home playoff games is over. Although I could be wrong

This is not the early 2000s......though East Gaston might be a little bit better with their new coach. And Shelby is always better than just pretty good. It’s the 1As that drag the conference down. They just won’t be able to compete with Burns and Shelby.

I was recently told by someone very close to the program that the sophomore quarterback, Lee, has made such a jump, that Shelby is just going to let he and the transfer duke it out for the position. It’s going to be interesting.

Rumor is all the duplin CO. Schools came together to vote against Clinton being added into this conference. So as nasty of a conference it would be even more so with Clinton, we weren’t wanted.

Makes NO sense. That old conference was terrible for Football. No interest at all.

You keep Clinton with WRH, ED, JK etc and every night is a big gate and loads of interest. No one is dying to see that Clinton/Fairmont game on Fridays like Clinton vs WRH or ED.

I watched him for the JVs last year and as a 9th grader he played really good. Nice arm with a great touch.

Simply not true based on discussions I had over the weekend with reps from two of the three schools.

Take Clinton, you almost have to take Midway. Where else would they go and then you have a 9 team league which no one wanted.

All three have had Clinton as a conference foe off and on for years or have scheduled them non conference. Trust me, no element of fear with any of them.

Get over yourselves.

Simply True based on discussions I’ve had with several close people in this situation. Didn’t say anything about Clinton being the almighty but it’s safe to say Clinton got the shaft in the new proposed conference in terms of interest in games and rivalries. That’s all I’m saying.

I’ve heard that as well By The Fence. I don’t think Speak in the mic meant to say Clinton was like better than anyone else but I honestly can say I enjoy the inner rivalries with the Duplin CO. Schools more than like when I was in school and we played the likes of Red Springs, Fairmont etc.

Understood. I think had the NCHSAA left SWO in the split league they were in, then the argument for Clinton and Midway would make sense. Why they moved them leaving only East Carteret as the 2A team baffles me. I also think Kinston staying 2A played a role.

The Robeson County schools create a problem because they are sorta out on their own and have to go somewhere. They, like the three Duplin schools did not like 2 hour rides one way. Distance wise, this alignment makes more sense when looked at it in total. The SWO inclusion makes less sense than Clinton and Midway being excluded.

I am sure WRH will still schedule Clinton. I guess we will see.

No complaints basically looks like the old Tri-six conference from the early 2000's minus South Robeson with the addition of East Bladen. Still can add WRH,JK,or ED in non conference play dont think it will hurt the football program i dont think it did back in the day. Sucks for basketball on school nights but thats always it seems especially if you have 3-4 games.

What do you think the possible scheduling between Clinton and SWO ? Seems like a fit to me. I dont think we had any problems going and coming when we were both in the ECC. Would be great non-conference matchup.

Does the top 2A team in a split conference still get automatic bid to playoffs in this new playoff arrangement? If so, East Carteret hit the lotto. They are only 2A team in conference full of 1A's. Should have thrown them in with SWO conference.

Me as a fan would love it with all our history its always a intriguing matchup something people would come out for and its been a min since we played 2016 last matchup. I hope the coaches and ADs can make that happen in the near future

The fourth and final draft was released today...as far as I know there wasn’t any changes from the 3rd draft. It’s all a formality now.
