Red Raiders will need to be aware of big-play OU cornerback
Submitted by Don Williams on October 19, 2015 - 4:38pm
Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes II will have to be cognizant this week of big-play Oklahoma cornerback Zack Sanchez. On Monday, the junior from Keller Central was named the Big 12 defensive player of the week for the second time this season and the third time in the Sooners’ last 14 games.

“He’s not a guy that’s afraid to gamble, and that pays off for him a lot of times and sometimes it doesn’t,” Tech offensive coordinator Eric Morris said. “Great cover guy. He’s a long guy that’s a fiery player. I love watching him on tape. I love the way he plays the game.”

In Oklahoma’s 55-0 victory Saturday at Kansas State, Sanchez intercepted two passes, returning the second for a touchdown.

He also was named Big 12 defensive player of the week after having an interception-return touchdown in the Sooners’ 31-26 win against Texas last year and after making a game-saving interception in a 31-24 double-overtime win last month at Tennessee.

Sanchez plays right cornerback for the Sooners, so he’s likely to be matched with Tech split end Devin Lauderdale.

Well, hopefully this thread can remain pure, unsullied and devoid of all the quibbling on this topic that has tainted others.

Oh my, darn it all!:D

Dumb and Dumber is a comedy classic. I wasn't a fan of the sequel and wished they would have left it alone, but there was so many clamoring to put Carey and Daniels together for a 2nd movie, Hollywood just couldn't resist. And you can't blame Jim and Jeff for taking the money.

I am actually who find Caddy Shack to be overrated. Being born in the mid 80s, it's possible that it being "before my time" could be to blame.

Well, clearly some herbal cerebral alterations helped immensely.

From what I've read the whole cast was stoned during filming. Hey, talking the eighties...

Some of the greatest comedians have openly admitted that drug use was a necessary evil to "remain funny". When Dave Chappelle was on top of the world with "Chappelle Show", easily the greatest sketch comedy show ever and ground breaking in hilarity, he had a mental breakdown. Once he came around, he talked about how hard it is to always be funny and the audience expecting you to make each joke and sketch funnier than the last. Basically, said that without pot (and I'm sure some other substances) he would've cracked before that.

The Dave Chappelle's and Richard Pryor's were funny before the drugs. ;)

I've always been told by friends and family that I missed my calling as a stand-up comedian, and my best quips and sarcasm come when I'm nice and buzzed up or in the first few hours of a hard hangover.

I actually liked that movie...is there something seriously wrong with me?

The sequel...oh my, even worse than the Caddy Shack sequel. Bad!

Caddy Shack II may be the all-time worst comedy sequel ever made. And I can easily say that Blues Brothers 2000 is a close second. Both are just unwatchable they are so bad.

I hear that.
Seems like a fascinating line of work, and I suppose Jay Leno is proof you can do it with all your faculties intact.
He is the definitive exception to the rule though.

I release all my demons and anger through that Stratocaster guitar.
She always delivers too.

Tell ya what BC, you give me a half hour of funny shtick and I'll give you some bombastic blues and heavy metal sometime...deal?:D

Leno has good delivery...and a room full of writers.

My brand of comedy is very "on the fly" and conversational. I couldn't give a 10 minute monologue much less 30, but I've always had the best come back or smartass reply.

Most comedians are incredibly intelligent and don't fit in the mold of average American lifestyles. There are strong correlations between intelligence and depression.

Most comedians are severely depressed. I think being funny keeps them sane.

Not sure about the drug connection, though. One of the funniest comedians and a favorite of mine, John Belushi, was as clean as a back-up QB's jersey.
