man... I dont know...HPC had that high powered triple option, but T-Ville had a defense that the likes of hasnt been seen often if at all since then.

Im thinking a 10-7, 14-10 kinda score that could go either way.

People overlook the HPC defense in 99 because of how good the triple option was. Central led the state in interceptions and had a defensive tackle that would go on to Nebraska. They were stout!

trivia fact...last nite was the first time Reidsville has played HP Central since 1962 (a 14-6 HP win)…....Either one of those 1962 teams would have easily beaten this years HP Central team...……………………...

In 1955 High Point Central visited Reidsville. HP featured great RB Cornell Johnson and Reidsville had All America RB Donnie Coker. Reidsville coming off 1954 state championship.

Here is the trivia. Huge storm at Kiker Stadium Friday night postponed game until Saturday night. Of course, I was there both nights. Coker went on the play for UNC and later Georgia Tech as a punter after Big Jim Tatum died of rocky mountain spotted fever and Coker tore his ACL which in those days was a career ender. I don't remember what happened to Johnson.
