Reports swirling that Napier could be fired Sunday, win or lose. Freeze would be out with a loss.

UF plays MSU on Saturday and then goes into a bye week. Auburn hosts Missouri.

UF AD has was apparently told by prominent boosters that continued financial support hinges on a new direction for the program. As long rumored, UF's top target would be Kiffin, but Kiffin is always rumored to be a candidate somewhere.

What's generally agreed on is that neither coach will survive their next loss, and neither team is going undefeated the rest of the season. UF apparently wants to make the change in conjunction with the bye, but it would be awkward waiting to fire a guy and doing it after a win. Both programs appear very ready to move on and just a matter of timing at this point.

I would believe it.

As with pretty much everybody, there's no telling how UF's NIL compares with Ole Miss, but i would not want to see Kiffin at the head of one of our permanent opponents.

If Napier really is on that hot of a seat, they should go ahead and fire him no matter what. Coaching with an axe over his head is never good for a coach or a program. If it truly is at the point that the big boosters are that tired of him, the die is cast, there is no sense in prolonging the agony.

UF's NIL has to be much larger. That said, Kiffin should stay at Ole Miss. They are pleased as punch with what he does there. If he went to UF, they would expect championships almost immediately. UF is still living under the delusion that they are back in the Spurrier/Meyer years.

But teams do it. Even for entire seasons.

If we were to end up 4-8 this season, everyone knows Beamer's not gonna the guy. But we'd still bring him back next year b/c we have to b/c he had a good season last year. Then we'd can him after 2026.

Could the SEC make it a trifecta?

The same coaches will continue to be recycled through college football and making millions of dollars for do next to nothing.
I wonder what the hit and miss score would be for different schools when they hire a new coach. Ours would be pretty low after 6 seasons.

How many schools will be looking for a get-us-to-the-CFP coach? There are enough of them to meet all of these schools' and fans' expectations.

Liberty gave Freeze a chance to rehabilitate himself, and after two good years they gave him a five year extension. He said all the right things; building, taking Liberty to the next level, etc... A year later he jumped when Auburn called.

If All-barn fires him, a school would have to be a big sucker to hire him.
