Returning Players?

So I've heard, according to the new rulings, that Hadley could return next season as well.

Wonder if both Pryor and Johnson will return to UofL too?

If so the Cards would have:

Brown
Rodgers
Johnson
Rooths
Hadley
Pryor
Khalifa
Scott

Pretty solid core there. Add in some transfers from the portal and maybe another freshman or two.

I think unfortunately, some of those names will enter the portal. I think Johnson for sure with the phenom PG Brown coming in. Rooths is another one as he's just scratched the surface on how good he can be.

However, transfers in the portal are going to be more interested in a Louisville program coming off 20+ wins instead of 8. I think dudes see what Kelsey has going here and Louisville will add a couple top transfers.

The rosters from now on will be more balanced and talented but hopefully just as tenacious and dedicated.

Come on now. You know the reality today with collegiate sports. You have to be prepared for players to leave for many different factors. I hope they stay, but odds are some won't.

If Johnson leaves it's going to be even more important to have a solid core back court to put around Brown. Rodgers will be there but need more than that.

You have to look at it from a value perspective. What is the actual or perceived value of a player? The key guys like Johnson and Pryor will others throw more at them the next cycle coming off an injury?

Rooths-with the departures his role will only increase. Now his value will increase. There is enough film on him he will have the opportunity to improve his financial status. This will be a money ball decision.

Here is what makes me feel better about things: Coach Kelsey was able to sell the Louisville program even after 3 horrible, toxic losing seasons. Enthusiasm, attendance, and relevance were torpedoed - yet he was able to sell the program to this roster that is apparently very good. If he can sell the program under those circumstances, he'll be able to sell it after this season.

After the win at Pitt, I had the Cards losing 3 more games. I can't name the 3 losses, but let's say @SMU plus two other randoms b/c siht happens in conference play especially on the road. Now, after the big win @Syracuse, truthfully, the ACC is so down it's hard to see them losing more than 1 or 2 games - and that will be disappointing (yet understandable b/c like i said siht happens on the road in conference play) given the schedule that is left.

So, do you think CPK can sell the program with a 25-6 or 24-7 record and a 2nd place finish in teh ACC? A 2nd place finish in the ACCT? And if the Cards go on a run in the NCAAT, who knows? It's an exciting time to be a Louisville fan.

As it looks today, I can see only a few losses and I only say that because I just can't predict winning out. Even Duke fans probably think they won't go undefeated. There's always the fluke game unless you've just an overwhelming team.

The road game at SMU is assumed to be the next loss but I've watched them and wasn't that impressed. Certainly not as good as Pitt or Clemson.

If I'm to be honest, I think Louisville will lose 2 or 3 more conference games. I think a home loss would be Pitt or Wake Forest. All road games have a potential to be a fluke loss, but the Cards are susceptible to bad play at Notre Dame.

The irony of this season will most likely come when in March, Louisville's 25 wins will be downplayed due to the weak ACC. Louisville will then be seeded #7 or less.

Today, Louisville is still not ranked.

Yeah thinking we're going to win out when it's January 15th is UK fan unrealistic nonsense. Historically, Louisville has never played well against UVA or @Notre Dame. @SMU will be tough based on the numbers, but I have not seen them play like you have. Pitt will be looking for revenge after the Cards spanked them like Katina Powell for $5 in a dorm room. My guess is 2 losses somewhere across those 4 games, but then again I was hoping for 2-2 during the UNC/UVA/Clemson/Pitt stretch and they went 4-0. Let's see what happens.

I got fired up listening to Mark Packer singing the Cards praises. Sorry if I've been too repetitive on the subject.
