Bumped into an assistant tonight and all he talked about was hoping they get C-G instead of Phillips in the state championship. I guess they feel pretty confident about defeating Normal West and either Crete or Washington to get to Champaign. Will be watching this one a little more closely now.

Bumped into a Richards assistant that said that? Doesn’t sound like them. Pretty humble coaches. You sound salty about something. Maybe not.

Find it kind of interesting that you joined this forum Monday and ran into an assistant coach last night who gave you all that pertinent information and you decided to share it with us on your 2nd post ever. And all he could talk about is a game which may occur three weeks from now. Don't know what your agenda is but I'm calling it was it is- a crock of bs. Good to know "you will be watching this one a little more closely now!" Please keep everyone updated on any more insider information that you come across - it's quite believeable!
Two unlikely scenarios would have to be at play here for this to be true:
1. A coach would have to be a jag bag to speak like that, knowing how embarrassing it would be if he lost.
2. You would have to be a huge douchebag to come on a message board and post it, if this coach actually said it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t think you’re a douchebag, just not one that would betray the trust of something said in confidence.

calling bs on you. why it is very plain and simple.
they always take the next team up. never do they look past what is front of them.
each team/week has its own uniqueness and they plan for that team not down the road.
with 2 dropped td's. Yorkville wins that game if the td dropped before half is caught and they dont fumble opening kickoff of 2nd half. would have been 21 to 7 at half, and Yorkville gets ball(and doesnt fumble) really only 1 int. one was 3rd and 37 and other was with 1:40 left down 14 throwing into a prevent. They can be thrown on, especially on the outside away from Castro.
I was down on the west side of Normal the other night and bumped into an assistant. All he could talk about was me standing in his way while he was trying to pay for his Lotto tickets. When pressed further, he went on the say "Richards has the best defense in the state, why isn't anyone talking about them?"
So funny you say that. I was at the local Dunkin Donuts grabbing my morning cup of Joe, cream and one sugar, and a French cruller and happened to see a CG assistant looking a little out of sorts. After asking, "What troubles you bro?" He says, "Man, all this film dissection on Phillips and what's the damn point? Richards is my Freddy Krueger. I can't sleep at night."
Those two guys wouldn't happen to be Jack Tripper and Mr. Furley?
