That is probably a step down for him, I would want for a P5 job.Jim Leonhard the DC from Wisconsin. He is young and has done a great job and is in their price range. He is currently paid $625k and Rod Carey was making $633k. I know he is from Wisconsin but NIU is a solid Midwest starter job.
Dave Aranda situation shows you that's not the case with UW. You have to go be a DC at a bigger program first. That is probably a step down for him, I would want for a P5 job.
Is Temple a higher profile job than NIU?
If so, I'm surprised.
The MAC and Sun Belt are regarded as the lowest tier FBS jobs in general. Is Temple a higher profile job than NIU?
If so, I'm surprised.
Illinois is just behind Pennsylvania in this category actually...ranked 12th and 14th.In case you haven't noticed....this state sorta blows when it comes to state school funding etc.
Hammock is well-liked in Baltimore. I'd like that hire or Uremovich.I've heard Thomas Hammock's name thrown around...former NIU running back and current Ravens RB coach as well as Uremovich and a few others including Jim Leonhard...and yes Temple has a lot more money and resources compared to NIU....In case you haven't noticed....this state sorta blows when it comes to state school funding etc.
If it's Uremovich, this is an incredible example of rising through the coaching ranks. He was the WR coach at Benedictine in 2000. 19 years later he is in the discussion to take over a D1 program. Crazy.matt canada or mike uremovich.
Temple may pay better but Carey's predecessor at NIU went to the ACC (NC State). So many MAC coaches in recent years have been jumping to the BIG Ten, ACC, Big 12 etc. not to the AAC? And it would seem harder to win at Temple than at NIU.
This seems like it is a one step ahead of the posse reaction by Carey wanting out at NIU to settle for that job. Jordan Lynch can be head coach of both his alma maters in 2 years!
