...to schedule Meck teams, despite being just down the road. The fans talk big but the teams would rather play a cup cake way up in the mountains for non conference than a Mallard Creek up the street. Little old Hunter Huss can schedule Vance and Rocky River, but the Cleveland County powerhouses avoid all Charlotte teams like the flu...so they say...on the 4A board.

If Crest played MC tomorrow, the Chargers would walk away victorious. Just my gut. I don't think they are afraid of anyone.

Nobody is afraid of anybody. That's just stupid. If Crest didn't like losing to teams that are/was considered "better" then we wouldn't schedule SP after we dropped out of the Big South. We've proven numerous times that we don't have to travel back and forth to charlotte just to make us better...we can win with our "weak" schedule, we can make it to state just fine with the teams that surround us.

Does that mean I wouldn't like to see Catholic, or Butler on the schedule? No, I'd love to see if we could match up with the bigger teams, but I hate Charlotte. The drive especially and traffic sucks. I'd much rather travel to Asheville or ACR. That's just me though...I'd schedule Gaffney before any Charlotte school, and yes I know they were down this year...but they are much closer in proximity, and most years they can beat just about anybody in NC.

Dangerous conjecture to throw around.

But the anticipation for it has to be intense.

It don't always make sense to schedule games with many of the Mecklenburg schools. Smart A.D.'s are looking for teams that will fill the seats on the visitors side. Many of the Meck schools just don't travel very well. The Crest fan base like South Point will fill up the visitors side anywhere they go. The competition is important but $$$$$$$$$$$$ talks.

We play South Point week one. Even if we didn't we couldn't schedule the games we are fans. Have their people call our people, and see if they want to bring their 300 fans down here and play in the future.

Personally I thing he money made off of 10,000 will be worth a lot more than what we could make off of our 5,000 and their 300.

In any case, anyone who watched every team in the Chapionship games this year knows who the best team on any field was this year.

The Charlotte Catholic vs Vance game had about 250 for Vance and a 20 member band. 1800 plus school in a western final to see who plays in a championship game and no support. Seems to be the same for 75 percent of the public Meck schools. Only a couple of the privates travel well. 1A schools attendance is much better than 4A/4AA.

Yea, they looked real good.
You two idiots know nothing. Chopper has always been a ignorant dolt, and Ralph is just a poser. I find you two yellow spined cowards funny though.

The Best team in the State regardless of classification was THE MIGHTY CREST CHARGERS!

2014 3A State Champs
2014 3A Western Champs
2014 S.M.A.C Champs
2014 Big South Champs
2014 Cleveland County Champs
2014 Gaston County Champs
FIVE TIME, FIVE TIME, FIVE TIME, FIVE TIME.......... State Champs

Allowed 5 points a game. Destroyed Havelock. Beat South Point Twice.

Got you two rubes still talking about them. Trying to convince yourselves because you can't convince us.

South Point is already beat next year........ It's OVER!

If you don't like it, learn to love it.

Lastly. Ralph, I hope you enjoyed watching us this year. Down deep where only you can get to. I know it burdens you to the core. We're just better Ralph. I personally think you're a loser, I think that you're truly a waste of skin and time. I hope you seriously consider jumping off Crowder's Mountain with nothing on but a purple shirt, in a thunderstorm, and just before you hit the ground, I hope you look to your left, and the last thing you see is Chuc Clubb, naked. I hope you wake up in Gaston memorial with and they tell you that you miraculously survived by hitting a cedar tree that broke your fall just enough, for Chuc to save you, with mouth to mouth.

Chopper, I hope you get fleas, and a bad case of menstrual cramps.

Clowns!

If I'm not mistaken, after beating the vaunted Independence team, Knotts was the one that didn't want to play Crest anymore, even with Leak and company. He quit returning phone calls.

It makes no sense to schedule the Charlotte teams. Athletic budgets depend on gate receipts from home games to help fund football and all other sports. Why would Crest AD schedule Mallard Creek (75 fans), Vance (30 fans), Independence (75 fans) or God forbid, West Charlotte (8-12 fans). We have seen how Charlotte teams travel. Other than a Charlotte Catholic or Country Day, Meck schools don't even fill the home stands when they are home for a big game. We get plenty of competition from SP, Ashbrook and hopefully Asheville or AC Reynolds after TC Roberson contract ends. Would love to see Crest put a home and away contract with Statesville or Lake Norman or East Lincoln. Not too far and i think both schools would benefit at the gate.

and 1 last reason not to schedule a Meck County school
There is always the chance of catching a stray bullet at several of the Charlotte schools.
I am not kidding. I was at a Crest/West Charlotte game several years back when it was reported that gunfire erupted at another Charlotte school hitting a coach in the leg on the sideline. Convinced me not to go back to Charlotte games.

Well that is the main reason East Burke wants out of the SMAC conference. Lets see, Shelby brought about 65 people, Crest had about 80 people, East Rutherford had about 50 people and Chase brought a whopping 30 people to East Burke stadium this season. Last night I counted 28 people at the East Burke - Shelby basketball game sitting on Shelby's side. Sure it was going to be a runaway game in football, but you Cleveland county people can not complain when you do the same thing.

The football game with Shelby was played on a rainy Monday night. As for the basketball game our bball team is still celebrating the 2014 Championship.

You are mistaken, from what I recall Knotts made a call to Kirby when Crest was 3AA and Crest said Indpendence
had way more students.

You all are like the little dog barking behind the fence, you're big and bad until the fence is left open and the big dog
has access to your yard. You can type until you fingernails fall of on this board, but until you play a REAL team and not
the Havelock schedule, it'll just be words on a computer screen.

Hasn't even been a week ago, you were talking about how powerful Havelock offense is. Now you use them as a measuring stick for how bad a team is?

Crest has NEVER lost to Independence 4-0 Crest owns Indy, and Knotts ran like a school girl.

Now, why are you so freaking annoying? Are you ever going to admit who your team is?...or do you just get off on following Cleveland county schools and stirring the pot?

East Burke wants out of the conference because they suck. Same thing can be said for Draughn.

I doubt that you didn't see many of these fans there because their teams "don't travel well". I'll tell you why I didn't go to East Burke when East Rutherford played them: It was East Burke. If ER lost to them, I didn't want to see it.

Except Chase. They didn't travel because they are Chase and the opponent wasn't the "Q Foundation" or whatever.

Speaking of mental cases, you fit the bill perfectly, clown. Seriously, are you trying to be a moron, or are you just a moron? I can't tell. You must think we give a crap what you think.

We just won 16 games and a State Title. We seriously do not care what an anonymous ******* thinks one way or another. You're just another deadbeat clown who for whatever reason does not like Crest. Join the club pal. I personally think that whoever you pull for has been smacked around by Shelby or Crest or both and you've taken it upon yourself to spew garbage furiously, and ferociously because it makes you feel better. Knotts all time v Crest is 11-2. 37-11 average score.

West Charlotte 20-13 in the 1994 playoffs. Crest won second game of 2000 season 34-31 (Knotts first at Indy). Refs signaled incomplete pass in the end zone. Indy started 4 seniors in 2000. He was loaded in 2001 and tried to set up a national game, including conversations with DeLaSalle.

Roy Kirby in a taped interview in 2005 was asked why they were not playing Indy. His response was Indy had about a thousand more students so they would not be playing.

Shelby and Crest need to schedule East Lincoln. The other big fish in their pond. Would love to see this. Seriously, everyone in the state wants to see Shelby and East Lincoln play consistently. Crest...not as much, Crest would beat EL most years just as they do Shelby since they're a much bigger school.

Scheduling Mallard Creek is getting a little ambitious in my opinion. Crest could possibly beat C Catholic.
