I'm telling you, i call on A LOT of Bear booster doctors in my job, one in particular that will rival the fedex guy, and he swears UM will not hire Fedora.....which is the consensus amongst the other bear boosters i call on.....from the feeling I get from those particulars, its Leach or Sumlin.....more than likely Sumlin although most prefer Leach....

From my understanding, the committee met for the first time here recently. Fedora may be high on one of the member's lists, but I believe the process is going to involve the committee giving the search firm names, the search firm gauging interest of those candidates and also recommending any other candidates they have who they think would be a good fit and would be interested.
Then the committee will prioritize the list essentially and possibly conduct interviews before making a recommendation to Jones.
I have a hard time believing there is a front runner right now given the process. I doubt we'll hear anything real until the recommendation is made. It's possible a list of the final 3-5 or whoever they talk to may leak out, but I doubt we'll see much for a few weeks.
My guess on this is that someone talked to one of the committee members and either asked them specifically about Fedora, or the committee member said that he/she personally liked the idea of Fedora. I just doubt there is a committee front runner yet. Could be wrong on that, but I bet this is just an internet rumor, probably based on some fact but blown way out of proportion.

Double secret behind closed door deal. It would not shock me if ya'll have already hired him and he's been recruiting for ya'll for the last week.
Even on the Spirit, they've admitted that their source for the Fedora rumor was no one from the committee, and they haven't heard anything at all from the committee.
Jones has every right to go behind the committee's back and make a hire, but it would've been stupid for him to go through the trouble of putting together a committee he didn't plan to use. I think more than likely it's just internet rumor, and like I've said, the committee still doesn't even have a list of finalists that they're going to work from. It sounds to me like Fedora may be campaigning for the job. He's clearly looking to get out of Buzzard land.
On the Nutt thing, that was a Boone hire, which isn't really comparable to this situation. Boone hired a search firm, but then Sexton contacted him and offered him Nutt. He accepted Nutt and then told the search firm he didn't need them.
