I think Louisville in good negotiating position with a new contract for Satterfield since no mention anywhere of other schools wanting him. I suppose that could change next year if he wins 8 or more games. Hopefully get a cheap buyout in case it doesn't work out next couple of seasons. Will be interesting to see what UofL does as far as contract.

We’ve had four years. He’s a .500 coach. 1 bowl win. His first year, with Bobby’s players, was pretty good. He wasn’t able to handle the 2020 Covid season as well as other coaches. 2021 was bad. 2022 started bad, but he rallied, and scored some really nice wins. He can’t beat UK, though. We are kind of at an em pass. He’s neither fireable or worthy of a raise and contract extension. I guess the hope is he just kind of goes away.

He’ll be back, and he’ll continue to build a solid program. We can’t go changing coaches every few years.

We have joined the “other” 45 P5 teams scrambling for that Gold Ring.

If Satt can get us those 7-8 wins seasons and throw a 9-10 win season once in a while he will keep us ahead of the “merry-go-round” schools constantly looking for the next Saban.

Were used to coaching changes remember ;
3,5,4,3,4,4 and 4 with Satterfield those are the years of coaching tenures the Cards have had since Coach Schnellenberger.

And where has it gotten us? Let’s try building something that lasts, instead of going for instant gratification.

Can someone find we a coach in the power 5 that wins 8-9-10 games consistently that has recruiting class outside the top 15-25?

Has Louisville ever recruited in the Top 25 in the ACC? You can even go back into the other conferences. Have they ever had a Top 25 class?

Somehow our fan base expects Louisville with average class rankings 42 since 2014 to compete for ACC championships and consistently win 8-9-10 games.

Until recruiting classes are consistently in the Top 25 we can expect 6-7-8 wins consistently. Now if they start recruiting at that level and still consistently winning 6-7-8 we should evaluate the coach. I will say last year is Satterfield job was legit on the line. The on field performance and recruiting wasn’t good enough. Not so much this year.

And its not like these coaches were fired because they couldn't win. A couple of them left on their own volition not because we wanted them gone...

Make no mistake, Satterfield has one foot out the door.
As soon as a North Carolina based school comes a knocking, he's out

What you are describing is "No Man's Land."
It’s not a bad place to be if Satt is pulling and retaining talent. If it doesn’t work out then fire him after next year or let the clock run out on his contract and hire a new coach that can hopefully hold the roster together and win with his recruits.

Oh boy I love how people justify their dislike for a coach. We can’t like him because he will leave or because he talked to South Carolina. Don’t all coaches have 1 foot out the door until it doesn’t make sense money wise to leave. FYI schools from NC will only call if he is successful.

Satterfield leaves after being successful. Isn’t that best case scenario. Roster is good and you get a better coach. What are you afraid of in that scenario? Why do you care? According to many there are all kinds of better coaches.

Running around circles. You get your wish either way. What this tells me is you won’t like him no matter what and you are covered. He fails I told you or if he is successful in making them into a winner the leaves I told you.

Thats the way it is.
Some OSU fans want Day fired DESPITE a coaching record of 45-5.
Why do they want him gone?
1-2 against Michigan, including a home loss and no National Titles.
The Coaches are paid millions and according to You, have one foot out the door. Sometimes they need to be pushed out.
25-24 doesnt want to be here long term.

Wish granted.
