...his problem was he went to a FBS school desperately trying to be a BCS football program. When he was at Arkansas, he had the run of the State, getting the best players from in-state and getting a few from Texas and Oklahoma. At Ole Miss, he was competing directly with The Mississippi State University and couldn't pull the players he needed to be a successful program. <div>
</div><div>Not only that, but he also had to deal with the factions at Ole Miss. Fans at Arkansas are like that crazy ex-girlfriend you had- psychotic and emotionally unstable, but were fun and freaks in bed.....and the kitchen counter....and in public....and in the car on a road trip...... At Ole Miss, he had different groups- the "Vaught did it this way, and that's the way we ought to do it" clique, the "diddy said we used to have good teams when some guy named Vaught was here, so we oughta do it his way" clique, the "why is Mississippi State so superior to us in every way, we oughta do everything to destroy their program" clique, the "we oughta be the Harvard of the South, so let's start by de-emphasizing sports" clique, the "dude, where's that Ole Miss Weed Field?" clique, etc.</div><div>
</div><div>Poor Houston Nutt just couldn't pull the different groups together. He's a good coach, and at a proper Division I school he can win again. Then again, seems that coaches who used to be winners everywhere they went- Steve Sloan, David Cutcliffe, etc. become losers after that. </div><div>
