Sellers is a slightly better version of Dondrial Pinkins

Remember Dondrial well in '03 and '04. Lou's last two seasons-and forgettable ones. I remember Lou talking about how Pinkins had to grip the ball differently than most qb's when he passed because his hands were so big. Pinkins was monster size and mobile but not fast or agile.

He was also a crap passer just like Sellers!

I've been a Sellers apologist this season, however it's curious that he can throw 50 yard passes on a dime, but miss wide open 10-15 yard crossing patterns by 3+ yards. Also, he is bigger that many of our backs. Furry called a better game than Shula, but not asking him to keep the ball on that 1st 4th down in second half was silly.

Sellers won't lower his shoulder anymore....maybe that is why they won't run him in short yardage situations anymore....that is all I can figure.

Damn right he does......he will hold that SOB all the way out of bounds for a 5 yard loss and hold it on 4th down with the game on the line. Holds the ball better than any QB we have ever had!
Like Lennie with the puppy in Of Mice and Men .

The WR has time and space to make a lot more adjustments on a 50 yard pass then he does 9n a 15 yard pass. In addition to sellers just being better at that aspect of his game.

Is he the worst QB in the SEC? We can do better.
Yes. He is. Better is on the bench.

Our current QB is a "project" that hasn't panned out unfortunately. We actually have real QB's on the bench that will throw it on time and out of bounds on busted play when there is nothing there.

Sellers is a victim of his own success. He became famous for his great sack escapes and long runs, and somehow that got everyone believing he is a great QB. I think he is a great athlete, but not a great QB. His football IQ is woefully inadequate, and his short-to-mid range passing is pitiful!

I never forget playing golf with Skip
Holtz and when I asked him about DP he said, “he’s one of the best qb’s I have ever seen.”
