Is there really any justification for him being on the field over other receivers....Bone and Walker for example??? I mean he hasnt caught a pass this year and dropped yet another touchdown pass to win the game...thoughts??

That would've been a very difficult pass to haul in for a pro. The kid is super talented and needs to be worked in.

He got separation from defender which is the biggest factor of playing time.

My concern is he has all this hype and looks like a beast yet his results over last 2 seasons are minimal...others would relish that chance

Well, seeing as how he is a True Sophomore, I think it just a tad early to throw the towel in on his collegiate career just yet.

Do people really expect these guys to show up on campus day 1 and produce at the top college level like they did in high school? If so it definitely shows a lack of intelligence on the part of some people.

He's a junior

That's odd, the UK athletics site has him listed as a Sophomore.

Yet if you scroll down he played the last two seasons. Typo on their part. Sorry for relaying misinformation.

Kid can still put it together, he has the talent.

he'a a true junior, and without him UK doesn't beat missouri or EKU last year. Yes he does have drop issues, but he's a freak athlete and when he's on, he's very good.

once he's healthy that will only help UK.

Wasn't he the team's leading receiver last year and then messed up his hammy preseason and only really been on the field for 2 games?

Baker is a beast. He is a guy that is going to give you some huge plays, but with that comes some key drops. If he can keep the big plays and cut down on blocks he will be amazing. As it is right now we really don't have a consistent threat at receiver. For instance, Garrett Johnson is a big time home run threat and he had 6 catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Since that game he's only caught 3-4 balls a game and hasn't scored a touchdown or gone for over 40 yards. Badet is a big time home run threat as well and can be electric with the ball in his hand. However, before the MSU game on Saturday he had just 1 score and usually only caught 1-3 balls a game, although typically for good chunks of yardage. Richardson seems to have huge moments and huge receptions, but is largely quiet for most of the game. Timmons has big games here and there, and had a big one on Saturday, but before that he had 3 games without a reception.

So, Baker could be that guy that steps up and is the constant threat. I think having him would make everyone better. He is a different style than anyone we have. Badet is a great over the top threat with elite speed, but he's isn't a jump ball guy. Johnson is a perfect slot guy that can gash anyone on the hash. Baker is the guy that can make the tough catches and push around smaller defensive backs and still has some great speed to beat people over the top. Like I said, I think he's the type of guy that makes everyone on the field better. He just needs to stay focused and worry about the catch before he tries to take the ball to the house.

Stoops owes what little job security he has to Baker. Baker single handedly beat EKU last year with two incredible catches. We lose that game and Stoops may have gotten fired after last year and his seat would be scorching this year esp after that loss to Southern Miss.
