In Game play Shelby beat Saluda Sc. 1-0
Had 1 td called back ref said player toiched Qb durning pass.
Shelby beat Union 2-0 in game play.
One long pass play and other run from Mitchell in wildcat.
True story.....if u cant get to our Qb. And your safteys and Dbs aren't elite, its going be long night.
Defense looked good , still alittle work here and there but for 1st scrimmage thought we played well. Union had pretty much same team as last year that lost in final in upstate.
Saluda hsd great left handed Qb..not bad 2a team in Sc
.

Shelby rec are flat out burners, and didnt drop anything.Bess looks so comfortable in pocket this year..Oline big and did great job with protection

Nick Stites outside
And other outside they rotated Malachi Hamrick and a couple underclassmen

HHS hasn’t changed offense! Just implementing more passing. They worked it really hard at scrimmage, probably why everyone thinks they suck!!! Heard from coach they’re going 80% wing-t 20% shotgun. Gonna take a while to get comfortable.

I thought hibriten qb looked better in shotgun,,, hope its more 50/50 than 80/20.. I would expect this team to be ready come playoff time,,, Shelby fans know, more than anyone, from last year these are the most important games...

According to our JV schedule we don't play you or Owen. I believe Owen numbers are down so that may be the reason for them but I wish our JV's would play each other, it's good for the youngsters to play quality competition and get used to seeing the type of speed Shelby always has, maybe next year we will renew the JV game.

Somebody go ahead and hand Shelby the 2AA title for 2019. After watching the jamboree. This is the best Shelby team they have had in 5 years. Bess is throwing strikes, Mitchell, Husky, Daley and Fuller would start at 4AA schools. Not to mention hollifield and company on Defense. Freedom may be the toughest opponent they have all year but I think they are 4 TDs better. Burns, Crest, KM get the wins on your schedule you can. Cause you all are going 0-3 against the Golden Lions this year. And Burns you better hope Shelby calls the dogs off. All the off season talk might get 70 hung on you IMO.

Better than Shelby 15 and 16 squads? Let’s not jumped the gun yet after a meaningless scrimmage game. Shelby 16 squad had depth at every position. We lost a runningback the caliber of Brooks, and replaced him with studs in Truck and Devin Gullatte. That squad had a hellacious defense too, led by Micheal Carson, Dax, and company.

2015 squad had the best offense I’ve ever seen at SHS, just my opinion. You had three D1 talents in Borders, Wright, and Camp, and a senior laden offensive line. Four of those five lineman had an opportunity to play college ball on some level. You had Lee at quarterback who had supreme arm talent and a high iq.

I seriously hope you’re right, though, because if they are as good as those two teams, we will indeed when our 6 title in 7 years barring any injuries. I like what I see on paper, especially offensively, but I’m not going to give this team that distinction, after a scrimmage game. I remember a few years ago when KM blew someone of the field in the jamboree, they looked unbeatable, the best team at the jamboree, period, but went on to have a subpar year. It’s the year they had those Smith brothers who also excelled in track. Fast!!! Courtney Smith actually beat Travis Padgett in the 100 on an occasion.

1 or 2 injuries can change that opinion quickly... I also felt like last year Hibriten had the best team they had ever fielded,,, and maybe they did,, but not always the best team wins... I am pretty sure you need some luck on your side to make it deep in playoffs...

QB already lived in Shelby while he was at Burns. So technically he was ours when he was there.
