*Just a sickening loss tonight. I don't know that I've felt this sick over a loss since 2007 vs Florida.

*I was disappointed in the play calling on the 1st and goal on our final possession. I kept telling myself that Gran had something up his sleeve. Oh well.

*I couldn't feel worse for Badet.

*The defense...not really sure what to make of them tonight. Certainly, they caved on the final possession. Overall, not a bad night I guess. They did enough to keep UK in the game.

*UK just made too many mistakes. Extremely disappointing.

*The Cats are still alive in the SEC East hunt. Odds are remote, but they're not eliminated yet.

It's gonna take a day or two to get over this one. What an opportunity for Mark Stoops and Kentucky football. Pissed away. Like just about every other opportunity this program has had in the last 35 years. Feel horrible for the players and coaches. Feel just as bad for long suffering fans.

It does hurt, after the two Georgia turnovers we ran the ball 3 times both series and then had to punt, we have got to pass the ball more than that. How do you play decent defense all night and the lay down with a minute left. I felt that same sick feeling after a couple of plays and knew they were going to go right down the field on us, giving them 8 to 9 yards cushion on pass plays to the sidelines. they went 60 yards in about 6 plays and everybody that has ever watched Kentucky play knew it was over.

No. I would have punted. Try to pin them deep. UK's defense was playing well at the moment.

In general, I know people are gonna go off on the coaches. That's just the way we are as fans. Big picture though, Stoops and the staff had UK in position to win the football game. The Badet play was a huge turning point, and that had nothing to do with the staff. If he goes in on that play, UK is up 28-16 and the Cats are very likely headed toward victory.

Stoops has UK headed in the right direction. Gran has done a good job considering Kentucky doesn't the ability to do much from the QB position right now. Give this team a QB, and look out.

The coaches are being blasted on here but the WRs lost this game.

I agree play calling could've been better, but if Badet catches that probable TD, we probably wouldn't have worried as much about the play calling on that drive because we would have been up two+ scores. Oh well.

You can thank the WRs who choked away the game. That same bunch cost us a couple of games last season too and made Towles look worse than he actually was...

I agree. Stoops has program heading in right direction. But, a win tonight would've made us the talk of college football being at top of SEC East in Nov.

I stated at beginning of the the year that a bowl of any kind would be a successful year. Games like tonight hurt, but I'm trying to remind myself of the bigger picture. (Not easy)

This is 100 percent correct. If I've read one post I've read 100 about being too conservative, not playing to win, we need to pass more, etc. The bottom line is we were passing up 8, and a first down and momentum, and Juice fumbled for absolutely no reason.

Then we were passing again with the lead, threw a bomb to Badet, and he dropped a sure touchdown. If those two plays end the way they should have, we are almost certainly on here talking about going to Atlanta, and not about needing to pass the ball more.

I know our WRs were awful but we have 2 huge weaknesses, imo.

We have to find a QB that can consistently throw. Johnson makes the big throw on occasion but he's just not good on short routes. He doesn't run enough to be a threat there.

And if we don't find a punter that can actually kick something more than 35-40 yards in the air, we will continue to put undue pressure on our D. Our guy is pure awful. We used to be called Punter U.

This one hurt.

I kind of thought a jump pass was coming on second down at the goal line. It would have been wide the hell open but may have been too far.

Yeah, I don't understand why our punting is so bad. Heck, I can kick a football 35 yards and I'm not even half the athlete McGinnis probably is. It makes no sense to me.

This was just typical UK football unfortunately. When UGA had to have it, they made plays and UK does what they have done for years. Fail.

It sucks that after every game we say that if this didn't happen we would have been up by this much. That is Kentucky football for you. Until we can stop making stupid mistakes or bad coaching decisions we will never get to the next level.

The only thing I wonder is what Gran would have called on 3rd down if Stoops hadn't called timeout.

I wonder if he had a wrinkle out of the Wildcat that we hadn't seen yet.

The D looked completely gassed on the final drive.
You cannot give 10 yd cushions like we were to their WR when all they needed was 3.
Extremely disappointed in the play calling and the D effort on the last drive.
We suck.

It was very painful and another typical loss for this program. This was the chance to get over the hump and yet again, they find ways to come up short. The Badet TD turned INT was an absolute killer....could have buried Georgia right there imo

UK is the Charlie Brown of the SEC in football.

If I had the program to do it, I would put UK on Charlie Brown and SEC on Lucy.

Yeah, an absolutely BRUTAL moment for Kentucky's WR's to come up with their worst overall effort of the season.

GBB!!!
The rest of the team gave good effort but the WRs were playing like they didn't care. Horrible effort. Its not often one position group costs a team a game but they did tonight. It was inexcusable.

Agree, but like you, I think the 1st and goal at the 9 was some serious bad coaching in that series

You're right...this was a tough one. And we had a MUCH better shot, against a MUCH more beatable team, relative to that Florida example. Tebow just lit us up in 2007 and they stayed 1-2 TDs ahead that whole game.

Tonight we had it in our grasp so many times and just blew it. For a few reasons:

- Johnson just isn't that great...serviceable against the bad defenses, a liability against the ones with athleticism. Let's be honest - his big yardage throws against recent opponents were mostly 50/50 balls that our receiving corps came up with. I love the guy but he has serious limitations. We all know that.

- Our RBs are pretty awesome but they can only do so much. Our QB needed help and didn't get it from his WRs tonight. Two serious errors...one completely bizarre (but totally UK) by Badet.

- D made some big plays but also let Georgia run it on us like we did on Missouri at times.

- Playcalling was creative at certain points in the game but then ridiculously bland and predictable at others. Many have mentioned the last set of downs inside the Georgia 10...and rightfully so. It was a BAD set of calls.

This was a tough one to lose. So many woulda, coulda, shoulda, moments prevented us from getting a big win.

If Badet catches that long pass we coulda got a TD and slammed the door in their faces.

We gave their offense too much cushion to easily move downfield on that last drive. If we woulda played them a little tighter, maybe they don't move the ball so easy.

We shoulda been able to do a better job scoring on those Georgia turnovers.

It's unfortunate that problems like these seem to rear their ugly heads too often with this program.

Right. We all hate making excuses but at some point it's just like...why can't we catch a break? Don't we deserve ONE?

If Missouri can win two straight division titles...if Vandy can win 9 games in consecutive seasons...why can't we pull off wins like last night? It's just so depressing.

Towles didn't look very good against the Cards and it had nothing to do with WRs. Towles just isn't all that good no matter who he plays for.

That's true...and I'm not defending Towles...but our REAL problem against UofL last year was getting absolutely demolished by their running game in the second half. It was painful to watch. I despise them.

Timing, mostly. 2007 group would win 10 or 11 against this schedule, only losses to Bama and possibly L'ville. Our program was torn down right as the SEC East was collapsing into the division that Missouri could win twice and Vandy could scoop up 9 wins in.

This was the first real shot UK has had to win the SEC in my lifetime. I'm not sure when I'll get to see the chance again.
