I can't say that I'm really happy with on the field play from the beginning of the season, but strictly by win/loss results, this team is 1/2 of the first game away from what I expected the record to be. I thought we would be 4 - 2 at this point with a 6 - 6 overall record at the end of the year.

IMO UK has to pull off an upset now to get to 6 wins, but the last 2 weeks have at least gotten us to a puncher's chance. No...I'm not one who wants to settle for 6 wins, but I'd rather see us with 6 and a bowl than 5 and no bowl again.

You are right about the 1/2 game but boy what a difference it makes. We always seem to bring extra dirt for that uphill climb that we are forever making.Maybe one of these years we will run out of ammo while we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

I don't think it's settling for 6. At the start of the season I predicted 7. With 6 being the low and 8 being exceeding expectations. It takes a 6 win season sometimes to move forward and I believe it's what we had to have this year.

With that said, the play on the field the first 3 weeks was really disturbing and has really made me question of Stoops can get it done long term or if 6-7 is his ceiling.

At the end of the day I would be fine trading a CUSA loss for an SEC win if we were predetermined to go 6-6 regardless.

^^agreed. .500 in sec play doesn't happen often here. Albeit a very down SECe. Still think we should get a feeler offer out to mike leach and gauge that interest. He'd get us to a consistent 7-8 with a 9-10 ton season every few years.

We also a bad half away from losing to Vandy and/or SC. These things tend to even themselves out as far as close games go in terms of wins and losses.
