I think the Liberty Bowl is still in play, but I think in the end the Music City will look at how we showed up last year and give us the nod. We would bring a ton of fans, which means we will buy hotel rooms, eat out, and a bunch of extra stuff that will benefit the Nashville economy more than Vandy fans.

but if Georgia beats LSU and LSU drops to #2 in the BCS, we'll go to the Chick-fil-A. I see very little opportunity for Liberty.

With Miami self imposing a ban, it opens up things for the ACC side of the bowl picture

Possible Opponents in Music City: Virginia, NC State, maybe even Georgia Tech
Possible Opponents in Chick-fil-A: Clemson, Virginia Tech, maybe even Florida State if the ACC gets two in the BCS.

This is from the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. If Vandy wants the Music City it`s gonna be hard to turn them down.
They write a bunch of big paychecks in that town.

I couldn't pinpoint a fanbase with a majority of the pop here. I know AU strangely has huge amount here. I would even say it equals, if exceeds, that of visible UT fans. Every school has a nice representation though.

I don't live in Nashville, but with in-laws there I go quite often. UT is represented more than any other school when I go in stores there.

It was pathetic. There's not as much revenue brought in because all of their fans LIVE here. We'd bring in much more bodies for the actual game and more money from the out-of-towners. They don't even pack that small stadium they have so why would any bowl think they'd pack their bowl???

Local sponsorship moneyis important to any bowl game. Might be worth it to the Music City Bowl to take a Vandy team even though they won't bring any out of town fans (and not all that many in town fans either) just to keep the sponsors happy.

no matter where it is that is a good thing this year. Bowling in a DOWN year is the mark of a good program. It wasn't what we really wanted but in a dissapointing year it is DAMN sure better than not bowling. THREE IN A ROW FROM OUR STATE!!!!!!!!
