UF and UK would be a much different game if played at this point in the season.....UK's D hadn't found it's identity until the following weeks. That being said, UF and UT have had the bluff on UK for a long, long time. They come into the games supremely confident and UK comes in almost timid......Face it, they have the "Mojo" on us! Gonna take alot of culture change and belief, fan support (instead of discouragement) to break these streaks! And yes, Vandy is a tough out for just about anybody. They have played everyone to the wire....so this was a quality win for this program on more levels than 1

This just set us up for a no win situation in this board after the Georgia game. We win, it's Georgia is terrible and they lost to Bama. This Winn proves nothing. We will see where we are when we play Alabama in 2024 -and only if they play pissednoff and don't feel sorry for us.

If we lose it will be fire stoops. If you can't beat a Georgia team at home, that lost at home to vandy you can't coach. Fire everyone. We can not lose a single game in year four.

Though this week has been nice. The board has been better as the few who turn every post into a negative, must be trolling somewhere else. But they have ran off a lot of good posters, and this board has been quite dead (sure big blue madness haloed there also)

UK has a manageable chance to get to a bowl game. The next three opponents are pretty bad. However I think UK only gets one win. Close loss to Miss. State, close win against Missouri, and blow out loss to Georgia.

I can't figure out College football this year. All the upsets and close games it's almost mind boggling. For the first time this year, I think UK has a real chance at a bowl. UGA and Miss St look beatable and so does Mizzou.

It puts Stoops in a precarious situation again. If he can't get to a bowl with how beatable those 3 look right now...woah boy. You think the Anti-Stoops campain was bad after Southern Miss, it would be nuclear after that

For UK to advance past those 3 teams it's going to take improved QB play. That's the key to the second half of the season. Johnson doesn't have to throw for 400 yds but he has to take better care of the ball and hit open receivers. It puts UK in a dicey situation as we move forward.

You have nailed it,Johnson has done o.k. so far but for UK to win even one game over those 3 teams he will have to do better than o.k. If he can hit open guys it will take these teams by surprise enough to give us a decent chance to win.

We have to have a plan B that we are willing to try before we are forced to go to it.It appears we are on a level enough playing field with Miss St and Mizzou that we can line up and go toe to toe with them.We have a lot on the line,we will see what Stoops can do when he has an even chance to compete with teams in the SEC,we can't withstand not being competitive in these games.

Johnson has to perform or Hoak has to play in this situation.

Is Vandy a bad team and the UK win was a bad win or is Vandy a good team and the UK win was legit. Lots of people were dissing Vsndy about how awful they were and now saying how good they are.
Good question. Based on power rankings from well-respected sources, Vandy and Kentucky are both in the bottom 3rd of SEC football teams right now. So is South Carolina. What has changed is that Georgia has fallen down to that level too. Of course, this will immediately cause a lot of our fans to demand for Stoops to beat Georgia on November 5. Some will even call it another "must win" game for Stoops. But matchups make games. Vandy matched up with Georgia physically at the line of scrimmage. Nick Chubb was held to 40 rushing yards yesterday, while Zach Cunningham had 19 tackles. Georgia will run the football downhill against our defense. I remain skeptical about our run defense against better teams. If Kentucky holds Chubb to 40 rushing yards, that's real progress and we will probably beat Georgia. But I would not count on that. If Kentucky plays well against Mississippi State, Missouri, Georgia, will the blood suckers on this board pipe down and find another hobby?

You're assuming Hoak can outperform Johnson. I contend that if the staff thought that was true Hoak would already be playing. No way they're holding anything back at this point.

All teams are terrible if UK beat them. And all teams that UK loses to are terrible. To most on this board, any win UK has is because the other team sucks. But every team that we lose to, we should have beaten but don't because we suck and have horrible coaches.

So to answer your question, Vandy stinks and just got lucky. Until we beat UGA and then they will sucks too.

Not what I meant to say,Johnson should remain the starter without question,if he continues to struggle throwing the ball as he did in the Vandy game then we have to give Hoak a shot to see what he can do just to keep defenses honest

I agree Doc. we can play with those two teams and maybe Louisville

I think we will possibly see Hoak in all three of those games. Johnson has done well but he's been lucky as much as he runs the ball

I don't like to see a kid lose his red shirt, but we have too many games left and will need need him badly. We've been quite lucky so far with Johnson staying healthy. Having both available can make decisions easier.

If we can keep the injuries to a minimum, we could have an exciting finish. go cats

Anyone we beat won't be good , learn lair op

By my quick count, I could have made a mistake or two... But we are 1-22 against FBS teams with winning records under Stoops, so, yeah... Prolly right, anyone we beat won't be good.
