The strongest argument fans can offer for retaining Beamer is that his 9-win season shows he can get the job done.
My question, though, is why do only the good seasons count? If a 9-win season shows he can get it done, doesn't a 4-win season equally show that he can't get it done? Or the 5-win season from 2 years ago?
