Watched that earlier. I will miss him when he hangs up his visor. He is a national treasure, though there's nothing as fulfilling as beating his team!

Totally agree. Always loved TOBC despite the horrible beat downs he put on UK. I'm pretty sure he has a clean NCAA record and, IIRC, has been perhaps the most active SEC coach in "reporting" cheating by others.

Peace

How do you not love this guy? I know he's beat the dogsh$t out of us for 30 years and loves to rub in our face. He's one of a kind for sure.

Spurrier's been a winner everywhere he's been in college. Fun personality and a great competitor. College football won't be the same when he leaves.

He always seems like he has a lot to say but holds it all back, would love to hear him let it go one time.

You love him despite the beatdowns he put on UK?

Don't you mean that you love him because of the beatdowns he put on UK?

Yep, for my money the second greatest/second most influential coach in SEC history after the Bear......

I guess I don't feel the same way as a lot of you do. I say screw Spurrier and I could care less when the loud mouth retires. I don't mind some swagger but Spurrier is an obnoxious pick in my book.

Not a big fan of Spurrier myself, but I do like the fact that he doesn't engage in a lot of coachspeak. He definitely don't operate with a filter when he opens his mouth.

Would love for us to put a big whupping on the Cocks this year and hasten his retirement.

Feel completely differently about him now than I did 15-20 years ago. He and his wife were on the ESPN/SEC Network SEC Coach's Wives TV show and I kinda like him now after seeing that program. Yeah, he runs his mouth and he beats your eyes out when he can, but, that's what he's paid to do. Don't like it, do something to stop it, I guess.

Running scores up is never a good look , no big deal once in a while but to continually try to do it is a not worthy of any respect

He can be funny to listen to at times, but what I will always remember him for is when the going got tough for him, he tucked his tail and crawled out of town on his team.

Nah, TOBC knew he couldn't maintain the level of success he enjoyed over the years. For those who have forgotten, he coveted having Drew Barker as his last QB. I was there when Steve was the Heisman QB for Florida in 1966. He was always cocky, felt he was better than anyone and played to win despite any obstacles. Still, I will always respect him.

I had some respect for him up to that point. He tucked his tail between his legs and cut out on his team. There's no other way to describe it.

If you watch this documentary, this may change your opinion of The Ol' Ball Coach.
