Someone has been shopping already.

Curious......just a little curious as to where this young man could have possibly went off to. He has to be within close proximity.

Man it’s the same cycle every single year. Same problems SMDH

The “transfer” merry-go-round is quickly speeding up statewide as August closes in. Expect these high profile athletes who have not been part of the community for long to be found near new water towers. There has been a shift in the landscape and it is not known if he headed Southwest on 401 or Northeast. Prepare to watch the wild wild West. Athletes no longer represent their communities, they now represent “the better” team. The motive is unknown. Date of departure is unknown. What is known is bait was thrown and very well taken. More to follow as leads are entered into the database

Folks, lets not easily confuse the difference between bait and transfers. A transfer is personal. Bait on the other hand becomes a public matter - open season.

Athletes only care about what the next destination can do for them. What is the benefit of them going from where they are established to the bargain temptations splashed in their eyes.

There is foot traffic all over right now and they are after the athlete that may make the difference on their team. Remember, when speaking of athletes, the landscape turns into an Animal Kingdom. It's about survival whether it is admitted or not.

My guess is that the kid has been lured to a school that is keeping a well athletic balance of each position. It only makes perfect sense.

Remember we are in the middle of inventory and accountability season. If you don’t treat your babies the way you appreciated them when they first arrived, then they will listen to the person that is looking for them.

I’d hate to see that Florida law HB7029 become a North Carolina law allowing students to transfer to any public school within the state regardless of the zoning boundaries.

That Florida Law supersedes the athletic association rules which states - anyone who transfers would be in eligible for one season.

In NC it is at the discretion of the local school system. Forsyth County allows two transfer periods per year (??) with no loss of eligibility.

Man yes that’s true my brother
Other places in NC the LEA has the right to create criteria for immediate athletic eligibility.

Im against DRUGS. I’ve notice if a coach realizes that he can’t afford to lose a D1 athlete due to bad drug habits....mouth stays shut.

I’m still awaiting for the moment when GUILT sets in for that one Lone Ranger who threw bait at Hokes RB. Delay is the deadliest form of denial.

Either someone chimes in or we see the kid laced up, in different uniform, on a different field, and higher energy - somewhere else in NC come August.

Really only one now. A few years ago yes. But now you need to do it during the WINDOW!!! If you transfer during the season, chances are you are not playing until the next season.

I don't know this situation, but in MANY of these situations, it is the parents that SEEK out the other school!!!! Seen it many times. They think the grass is greener when only it gets watered a little more!!!!

I never thought they could transfer out of one of the two transfer periods and play right away. Thought when they transferred it made them eligible for the sports season that began next. Example, transfer during the winter and play a spring sport.

A move for athletic purposes can always be for the best interest of some students. There may be coaches that believe by allowing this type of transfer without any restrictions could have a significant amount of effect on high school athletics. If there was no rules in place then money would drive this movement.

There must always be some sort of restriction to stop such a trend.

Think about it this way, what type of lesson would any coach teach young athletes. For example let’s just say if things for an athlete did not go right immediately or the athlete got mad at a Coach and never learned to adapt to work through the problems, and then just bail out and go to some other school - there would be nothing learned in this method. A coach would just be cheating to kid in the long run if they allowed this type of behavior to continue.

There’s Richmond County, there’s Scotland County, there’s Robeson County, there’s Cumberland County. The kid could be among one of these places. The question is, what school took him? He can’t be too far. We will soon find out.....

Man there is more than enough talent in Richmond. For example, the incoming freshmen Linton kid. 6’4’’ 275lbs and still growing. The Davis kid 6’5 297lbs and still growing. And of course the return of the phenomenal QB. Kid looks ready in that UNC uniform.......

Richmond looks as ready as always. Heck word is y’all might get it all this year....

Too early still though

I’m clueless as to why this would occurred. Kids can leave for different reasons. Sometimes parents live through the life of the kid. Other times for example, kids will leave just because they are tired of the school or the atmosphere or the team or they may possibly have failed a core academic class (which makes them ineligible).

But it can get worst. For instance in my friends situation, they told his kid that he was going to be the next Walter Payton. Honestly, this stuff exist....

The “hunter” will always tell the “Huntie” who they can become just to throw that bait that sounds good, looks good, but in actuality it’s only for the best interest of the hunter.

I hope neither of these are not what is at hand.
