I decided last week that I’m going to publish a book about Starmount Ram Football. I have all the results and getting thoughts and memories from all Ram players, coaches, and support staff that want to be a part of it.

I’m really excited about this project. I’ve relived so many good memories with a few bad ones. Lol!!

I'm from Ashe County. Rams have dominated us for years. The Jake Barr era was exciting football.

In the 80's when I was in high school at North Stokes, Starmount was scheduled to play in Danbury. B. W. Holt called our athletic director at the time wanting to switch the game to Starmount for homecoming. When the request was denied he said, "You better order a new scoreboard that will hold three digits, because we're going to put a hundred on you."

That's what I like about football coaches. Direct message, like hay-diddle-diddle straight up the middle football.
