Stoops decision

I don't understand how Mitch hired Stoops when he clearly should have hired one of the couch coaches we have here.

You can argue all you want but at the end of the day they kicked a game winning field goal as time expired and that is exactly what you want to do.

There are positives and negatives to every situation and all of y'all saying they used bad clock management are only looking at the positive things that could have happened if they used that last timeout. They could have possibly gained more yards or possibly could have been sacked and lost yards or maybe there would of been a holding call or maybe an interception or maybe a fumble maybe we kick the field goal with time left and miss st returns the kick off or maybe the kick off is a touch back and they throw a Hail Mary and score and UK loses.

If any of those negative situations have happened all you Internet coaches would be questioning why Stoops called that last time out so it doesn't really matter what Stoops does because he will always be wrong and the internet coaches on here will tell him what he should have done instead.

Personally I would have kicked the field goal, it took some balls going for two at the time. I don't have a problem with it. I like the fact he was aggressive.

Not sure that it was that or confidence in team ... Two Point Conversion Chart says if down by two, go for two.

We started a 69 second drive with 3 timeouts. We ended the game with 1 timeout left. Had we missed that last pass completion, we were looking at a Hail Mary to the end zone with 3-4 seconds left in the game. I'm sorry people, that's not good clock management. We could have used that extra timeout somewhere along the drive to give ourselves an extra play.

But you go with a plan that you think will work, and you can't deny a win is a win, and without the buts.

The call that could've cost UK the game was the Johnson fumble play. UK was running it down their throats with Snell and Boom. Then you call a QB keeper for Johnson?!?! Don't get that at all.
Not sure if that wasn't a read option. The main thing wrong with the play was the path Johnson took and not being able to get down to avoid the fumble!

First off im still believe in stoops. But he needs to clean up some decisions he made. First one not kicking extra point early in the 3 quarter and at the end not using time out. Thankfully we got that 18 yard pass right before feild goal or we would have not had enough time for another play. Clean it up stoops!! I still believe !! Go cats!![/QUO
It's my understanding that the coaches up in the box have a chart that tells them when to go for a one or two point conversion. I doubt that's a decision made on the spot.

Think the first two of play was called in the locker room. "After we hit them for the td, let's go for two. And run this one. The first play set up the two"

Everyone complains stoops is too conservative, but when he does something of a risk it he don't make it people complain

Stoops is very " Charlie Strongish" great against weak competition and makes stupid dumbfounded decisions

That's why I'm not complaining. It all worked. I still don't think it was good clock management. Just my opinion.

I will be honest. I was getting a little ticked about the time management on the drive.

I don't think it was egregious but I am a "lay person" and I noticed it. Still, I thought the team executed like a well-coached team on that last drive so he deserves credit for that.

Big win. The blue kool-aid is ice cold and delicious and I think we win at Mizzou!

Baker catches the damn pass to the end zone, and nobody talks about clock management. We gambled and gave a historically un-clutch player a chance to redeem himself. He had every chance to nab that ball.

We caught the defense off guard. If we call a timeout, they get set. We exploited their weakness and it almost paid off. I don't think a lot of fans understand that we aren't Bama and we don't have a great passing QB. Timeout is great if your team is pretty good, but a lot of our success hinges primarily on getting defenses off-balance.

Again, it almost paid off. Johnson put the ball where it needed to be, and so I don't have a problem with Stoops' clock management. I'd rather win than do things by the book. Just my opinion.

Yes, but in all honesty, it would have been a circus tough-*** catch if he had hauled it in.

Tough? Maybe. I don't know if I would personally go as far as to say circus, though. He put his hands on it and even kept it alive for a bit longer. Again, jmo.

Semantics aside, I still like the way we handled it.

No. And the same goes for last year's drops.

It was a simple Go Route and the ball was over the shoulder and in step.

That catch is made every Saturday by a college wr.
