Wish I could afford to go to more games and thankful many on here don't have anything to do with the direction of the football program.
Just like your opinion of Stoops.
We are going bowling. Our program is headed in the right direction. Sorry, not sorry if I don't care about your opinion!
Wrong! It 99.9% assures us of a bowl.
It also says that this young team with a higher ceiling will improve over the next couple of years and be in this position more often.

Yeah, beating four conference teams that we don't regularly beat is totally irrelevant.

I'm sorry, but people said go to a bowl game this year or they were done. Now he's most likely going to a bowl game and people are making excuses as to why.
Look, be a man and just come out and say you don't like him and there's nothing he can do to win you over. I'd have more respect for that than whining. It's like the kid that guarantees he will beat you in something, then you win and he cries and says you only won because _________ (any cry baby excuse). It's so lame. Actually it makes it possible to go to a bowl game and guarantees UK of a .500 record in the SEC, which has happened 4 times in 35 years. It changes everything.
You're exactly right. It's so stupid. People have this misconception that while we haven't been beating SEC teams, they've all been top 10 or something. Not the case! There has always been 2-3 SEC teams that were great and then other games that were winnable where we just couldn't consistently beat them. Now we're beating teams we're supposed to beat and have to beat to go up the next rung on the ladder, and people are acting like we have to beat Alabama before they buy in.
It's like the basketball mentality has snuck over here to football. There are insane people that get pissed because we don't win a championship every year in basketball and now they won't even be happy with 4 sec wins in football. Screw it. If you can't crack a freaking smile after this win, then you're probably a miserable *^<+ and you aren't worth the time.

It likely makes us bowl eligible, which after the first 2.5 games is a great thing. I suggest you find something else to do with your Saturdays. If this team over the past 5 games can't make you happy, they never will.
Absolutely huge for recruiting, and it gives this team, which has damn near everybody back next season another month or so of practice.

********. It has changed everything. I was Stoops' biggest critic, but the turnaround is incredible. It is the way they are winning that is the proof. If you can't see it, that's your problem.

So, you've had 3 years of Stoops that you dislike and you want to compare all 3 to this one?
Year 1 - Mid MAC level talent with a good but not great recruiting class of freshman, so let's throw that one out.
Year 2 - Upgrade in talent, but talent is Freshman/RS freshman, and outside of the SEC, those Freshman + MAC level talent actually overachieved.
Year 3 - Had the season teed up, favorable home schedule, more experienced players, so yes, we should have went bowling.
Year 4 - 5-3 and a game with AP to go bowling. Talent is older, but still young, and they're learning how to win. They finally have the talent to go past 1 deep.
All in all, we are about where we should be with most people pointing at 2017 as the breakout year.
Remember, we are "YOUNG". We have more room for improvement than most and we will get better next year. It's not a senior laden team where we take steps back.
Like him or not, Stoops is doing a good job, and you should just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. However, after reading your posts, I'm not sure you can enjoy much.

Not going anywhere. Sorry I don't pump the sunshine no matter what. Facts are Stoops has been a disaster down the stretch in past seasons and started the yr off bad again.
Not going to sugar coat beating these ****** teams and claiming all is great now.
I was also one of them. While we are playing MUCH better, we are still the tallest midget with who we've beaten so far. These next 2 weeks will show us how far we've come and what type of team we actually have.

I get what you're saying, but so far he's been like Spurrier at USC. I'll take those seasons if it means having as much success as they did. Stoops is also much younger, so he can actually build a program here.
Of course I'd be on board with that. I'm not saying Stoops isn't the answer, just I'm not sold yet. I thought Joker beating USC was the turning point and that didn't work out too well.
I agree with that too. The thing about the Joker comparison is that Joker got a great team and ruined it. Stoops got a horrible team and SEEMS to make it shine.
I love how, when we start beating the teams we have been begging UK to beat for years, it's b/c they suck...not b/c we have a much improved, good, football team.
It's not about pumping sunshine all the time. It's about giving this team the credit, and the respect they deserve. Something you and your Keeneland avatar clearly can't do (which is a joke).
