You guys missed a good second half by YOUR TEAM last night . I have been to ten venues in the conference and nowhere else do their students bail like this at halftime...Why?
Sorry, like I said that is no excuse and you don't see it anywhere else in the conference:beer::cheers2:[cheers][cheers][cheers]:cheers2::beer:

Students don't like the ghetto rap.
80% of them did and for the ones that complained about it being too cold, maybe they need to not dress like it is 80° outside...Not all students left. My son stayed and he was glad he did. Winning will cure some leaving but not all. Which is ok. Not all students are die hard fans, this comes with age! All the fans that stayed did a great job of cheering.
With you here RO??We have students that will camp out for a week to get tickets to a basketball practice, but they won't stay 3 hours for a football game.

Sorry, not buying it for a minute...if that is your mindset before going to the game, why go at all.I saw alot of fans leaving, not just the students. Theres is a huge "the football team sucks" mindset on campus and with UK not being much of a comeback team and down 14-6 at half in a boring 1st half vs a bad oponent, its hard to blame them. Keep winning and the kids will stay, simple as that. The pretty terrible home schedule this year is part to blame. Unless a student is a big football fan, its hard to find motivation to stay when you are losing to one of the worser teams in the SEC. Ecspecially with parties down the street.

I understand it is the mindset of the students at UK, but why?...like I said earlier you don't see it anywhere elseIm clearly talking the mondset of the students. Calm down.
Two Keys was a lot more fun than 2 less than stellar teams playing football when I was at UK. I'm sure a lot of those students wanted to get a head start on drinking for the night.I understand it is the mindset of the students at UK, but why?...like I said earlier you don't see it anywhere else
When I was at UK back in mid-80s, a lot of the students treated the game like a social event. The frat boys and sorority girls would get all dressed up, and carry on like Blue Runner mentions above. Sounds like nothing has changed since then.Slugger, how long has it been since u have been in school? Lol. The majority of college kids are at these games to be seen, meet up with friends, and post on snap chat and Instagram. Pathetic I know but its reality. It's a precursor to the parties, hooking up, getting shitfaced etc which is MUCH more entertaining to your average 18-22 year old than UK fball. Heck, it was to me too at that age and I'm a sports fanatic.
Why do we have night games when it's cold and day games when it's hot?
Saban did it at Bama. The students were leaving early or coming late and he make a stink of it. Said they would start identifying which Greek organizations had those seats and would stop giving them tickets, if it did not stop.Wasn't there some college that penalized the students for not attending games or staying for the entire game... I forget the exact penalty, IIRC it had something to do with tickets or forefitting future tickets to games.... seems like I heard that somewhere last season
There is an easy explanation for that. Camping out for Midnight Madness has evolved to the point of becoming a "UK campus tradition" in the same mold as Friday night Yell Practice before aTm football game. There is no similar "football connection" with the student body.We have students that will camp out for a week to get tickets to a basketball practice, but they won't stay 3 hours for a football game.
UK has no control over thatWhy do we have night games when it's cold and day games when it's hot?
Try about 20% of them stayed not 80%. The student section was completely empty in the second half unless you count the band. Pathetic showing by the students for such a big SEC game. The team deserves better support from their peers.80% of them did and for the ones that complained about it being too cold, maybe they need to not dress like it is 80° outside...
They take after their parents, did you see how empty the upper deck was from start to finish last night?? Did you not see how thin the whole place got in the 4th quarter??? Up ten points and people everywhere were bailing out!!
It's the job of the program to make the games interesting to the students. Students shouldn't be expected to attend just because they're students. If the student body feels the football games aren't fun, the university and program have to do something to change that.
I have been to yell practice twice. When UK Plays at A&M down the line, it's a must for our fans to go to.There is an easy explanation for that. Here is link to aTm's Yell Practice before the AL game in 2013. This one was bigger than usual but are usually about 20,000 - 25,000 at the rally.
