SW Edgecombe (11-2) vs N. Davidson (11-2) updates

2am and I’m back home to Davidson County.
First, I compliment SWE for showing real class by opening the ticket booth early. We had a line of 50+ people waiting to get in at 6pm. They opened shortly after that and thus helped a horrendous back up later on.
They missed a huge opportunity to make some good money at the concession stand. It didn’t open until a little after 7. Many people were looking to buy something since they had gotten a late start and got held up thru Raleigh. Home team keeps the concession and program money. Lost some significant coin there.
I don’t know what the rule is about medical staff at a ball game is, but there is zero excuse for a ballgame to not have access to some type of EMS. Not sure of the severity of Kobe’s leg injury, but if it had been worse, we could have been looking at a severed femoral artery, which could have been fatal while laying on the field for nearly 30 minutes.
Lastly, what in the world does it take to get the home fans thru the gate? It started to fill up a little after the game started. I hate they didn’t get a better showing from the fans.

I have been critical of Flynn at times. Gotta give him props tonight. He had the boys ready to play, and the play calling looked pretty brilliant at times. SWE defense gave some weird looks after the first couple of drives, and ND seemed to find the soft spot time and time again. This was the best offensive effort all year.
SW goes out of the way to be gracious hosts. Thanks for the compliment. Plz pass along any info you may find out about Kobe. I mentioned him in my prayers last night. That game wasn't suppose to start until an ambulance is there......Peroid.....It's not SW fault, I'm more than sure they had requested it with the county. As far as the gate goes, unless your Tarboro, Rocky Mount or Southern Nash alot of our people stay home or other things. One thing about that is SW doesn't get the press coverage it used too. The local paper in Tarboro shut down years ago and now the only coverage we get is The Rocky Mount Telegram. Then we are the last option for them After R.M, SN, NN, and Tarboro. It's hard to get any hype built up. A write up on our games is a small paragraph.
I had a good portion of y'alls offensive signals figured out by haftime. The guy was wearing a grey sweater with the headset on. Doesn't matter though y'all's line controlled this game. Y'all's backs would be three yards down field before we could even get a hand on them, and couldn't get pressure on the QB in the passing game. Great game, we went out with our head up. Good luck the rest of the way.

Sometimes great execution makes the play caller look good, and there was some of that going on. But he definitely mixed it up well and had SWE guessing all night.
SWE did fight the whole way. I thought 35 - 0 at the half would break their spirit, but they never quit. They are not a team made for a comeback, though. Huddling every play and snapping the ball with less than 10 on the play clock just doesn't work when you are behind big in the second half.
Thanks to SWE for the hospitality. Every one I spoke to was pleasant and accommodating. The cannon was cool too. Scared the crap out of some of our crowd the first time it went off.
The long play calling was an anomaly. We are usually go go go. Soooo many things last night were things that we don't normally do. The penalties? My word. I hadnt seen that many false starts and offsides all year combined. Slow play calling? No. We keep it moving. ND completely took us out of our element. We didn't do anything that we wanted to do and im sorry we didnt give you guys a decent game. That was not SWE football. The defense was as good as advertised, and I congratulate you on your future Eastern championship.
The band did a great job from the stands. They looked like they had a really good time. The capes were really cool!
