Going to be cold Friday and that football gets cold and hard which makes catching it even more difficult. Always easier to run the ball when it’s cold then throw it. In a normal Swain year I would say advantage Swain but with things being as they are this year Mt Airy can run the ball pretty well themselves so if they are able to throw just enough to their Athletes then Swain is in trouble. Nothing but respect for Swain but I say MA by 3 scores.

Curry is a long way from playing time, quite a few QB's he'll have to beat out to ever start at Western but I'm rooting for him. But my point was Murphy wasn't passing against Mount Airy because they were forced to, they were always going to pass because it was a huge part of their offense.
Murphy 2017 offense to Swain 2018 offense is apples and oranges. Swain doesnt pass the ball period. It doesnt matter score, time or down, they aren't going to pass. Murphy was up by 40 and they were still running their base offense.
Yeah it is odd to see a team not pass at all especially when they're way down. You saw it when I was young a run only offense like the box or something. But about the only teams you see today is like in college Navy or Georgia tech running the triple option , which I assume Swain doesn't run.
Swain had 0 yards passing last week. Swain has always run the veer but could throw when they needed too. I watched them run a QB draw on 3rd and 31. I believe they got 3 yards. Swain OC needs to wake up before it’s too late!
Would you have felt better if we had if we had thrown the ball 10 times and lost. We won the game with an excellent game plan. Anybody with a brain knows we had to keep the ball on the ground and eat clock. We limited mic to about six total possessions. What do you have in your playbook for third and thirty.
Would feel a lot better if Swain had options. Would have been nice to be able to take a shot downfield on 3rd and 30. Running a qb draw is like saying let’s go ahead and punt. Yes, Swain did win but will see a different opponent this week. A much better team than last week. Look at the stats, Swain has 300 yards passing for the year. They usually have 1500 yards at this point. It’s possible that Swain wouldn’t be 3rd in the conference and 5 losses if they had that dimension of the game. Anyone with a brain knows Swain is a one dimensional team. Against good teams, you have to have options. Swain has that option setting on the sidelines. A junior QB that hasn’t had a chance.

I always kinda have to laugh at some of the people on here who think they know more than a staff thats won state titles and watch kids everyday at practice. I dont have any love for swain, but im willing to bet their coaching staff knows the game and especially their own team a little bit better than pretty much anyone posting on this board. Coaching is a hard job and ive heard people heckle dee during games and call for his head one week then annoint him the next. If anybody thinks at swain, rville, or murphy that the staffs would do anything other than what they think is gonna help them win then they are kidding themselves because the pressure is great to do so. We are fans and we are right to have opinions, but should remember that criticizing decisions is easy when you never have to make those decisions yourself. Many people wanted rid of dee after he couldnt get odom and crew over the hump, but i dont think we would have won number 13 without him.

You are exactly right. There about fourteen state championship rings as player coach or both on Swain's sideline on Friday night. The ones that gripe probably don't have one or never played the game at all
I hope no one from Mt airy especially our coaching staff believes this no passing offense is coming to town Friday night these hill climbers will fool you they bleed SMC and they tend to stick together after the regular season is over until they are matched against each other and the adm arguement flares up.
Seen Bears practice yesterday hard. Coach was all over their butts and they are in game mode!
