I'm not one that cares much about polls, but I actually scratched my head a little when I saw this. I enjoy following John Cate at the Mount Airy News and I just stumbled on his story revealing the AP rankings from last week. Based on the story, I am assuming John was one of the voters.

The focus of the article was on East Surry being ranked third and only a single point behind Murphy for 2nd. Tarboro was #1 receiving 10 of 11 first place votes. They had 105 points out of a maximum of 110. If you aren't going to rank Tarboro #1, it would have to be either Murphy or East Surry. I'm OK with that. But which one of these voters placed the back-to-back state champions riding at the time a 33 game winning streak at #6? John?
