TCU led 50-0 but settled for a 50-7 win over the Longhorns.

TCU goes up 30-0 on the Horns, still in the first quarter. A safety and four touchdowns. The latest on a doublepass. Great throw by the wideout.

Not so much about how good TCU is but more about how UT is horrible. That program is in complete meltdown mode !

Remember what WVU did to Maryland? Mid second quarter, Michigan is 0-0 with the Terps.

Texas could very well be 1-6 by Halloween. I see 3-9 or 4-8 max this year.

I will say this....a good buddy of mine is a huge Texas fan and he spends a ton of time on the OB payboard. I know on here every week people say OB is in total meltdown. My buddy in previous weeks says OB hasn't been in full meltdown and it was more just overall pissed off Horn fans. Well...today I can officially say my buddy has even acknowledged OB is in full meltdown. Just got off the phone with him and he was talking about just how bad it is over there. So if he says it's in total meltdown, then that's really saying something as to just how bad OB is right now. All I could do was laugh at him and tell him to just go out and buy some Arkansas clothes to wear around town.....he hung up on me. LOL :D:D

I still think it makes them dangerous next week. But I suspect there will be a few north end tickets available next weekend for under face value. If it's worse than the other way in 2005, I'll be happy.

All of the ranked Big Ten teams looked pretty average today. Purdue with 1-3 entering today, including losses to Marshall and Bowling Green. They trailed at Michigan State 21-0 in the second half, but nearly came all the way back. Spartans 24, Purdue 21. MSU ranked second.

Wisconsin, also at home, scored no touchdowns in a 10-6 loss to Iowa. Badgers were ranked 19th.

Ohio State is still play, but they trailed Indiana 10-6 at half. You know where tOSU is ranked. They just went up 27-17 on the first play of the fourth quarter. Go Hoosiers. The Buckeyes have two touchdowns of over 40 yards on fourth and two or less..

And in the SUC, Alabama led UGa 38-3. Now it's 38-10 in a driving rain in Athens, also early 4th.

Longhorn Network is showing Rice highlights. It's their only win, so I guess ...

Nah. That's as bush league as possible three hours after your game ended.

So much parity these days, I really think it will become much more common place where top teams do in fact, look average in a large number of games during the season. Not only the parity, but offenses these days have made it where top teams can't just dominate teams with their defenses anymore. Plenty of teams these days are going to get a good number of points. So now more than ever, if you are a top team and have an off-day offensively, then a much lesser team that is clicking on offense, it can turn what should be a blowout into a pretty close game.

Much talked about in Waco is TCU's walking hospital defense, and still UT had little offensive success.

Okay, someone remind me when the Texas program had been as low as it is now. I'll be 69 this month and I can't ever remember the UT football program so crappy. It may be my birthday present. Hoorah!

Last time Texas was 1-4 was 1956, which was so bad, that it ended 1-9 and led to the powers in Austin hiring a young coach from Washington, who'd been a great player for Bud Wilkinson. He led them to three national titles.

That year, OU beat them 45-0 and TCU beat them 46-0. West Virginia beat them 7-6 and Baylor did 10-7. That was an NC year for OU.

But Bud only beat Texas one more time, a year later. And Darrell K Royal turned it around there rather quickly.

I actually remember UT's 1956 season now that you have reminded me, but my excuse is that I was busy being entertained by another great team that particular year. And a kid by the name of Tommy McDonald..,,my first true OU hero. Thanks for the reminder, Plaino.
